Mismatches for each team

Arky's OTs vs Mingo and Montgomery

Arky's slot receivers and TEs vs LSU's LBs

These are the obvious ones. Other potential mismatches are

Randle vs any of arky's corners
Johnson on our kickoff return team

Also - hog fans, I know your DEs have been injured but what is up with the run defense? I remember you bragging on the size of your interior d line and Franklin and Nelson were studs last year.

The easy answer would be willy robinson.

But really they have played a lot better since we have gotten those two DEs back...that has freed the LBs up a lot. Nelson has been a little disappointing and is losing PT to Ross Rasner but highsmith and franklin have been solid. The two DTs we start are talented but one is a sophomore and the other is in his first year starting in the SEC...we should be pretty deep there in the future though

Should have flamed more to get more responses. Wanted to have an actual conversation about the game was my mistake.

Our defensive philosophy was to hang back and play gap control. Part of that was because of the injuries and other was an attempt to allow our DL to play the run and running quarterbacks better. All it did in reality was handicap the frick out of our defense. The South Carolina game was when Willy decided to go back to a high pressure philosophy. We have played better, but we have also played a couple of down teams.

I fully expect our defense to blitz a lot against LSU. I don't know how that will work out, but I am almost certain Willy will be bringing extra guys all night. If Randle abuses our corners too much(which is very possible) he may back off.

Wing vs Adams will be interesting

Odell and shep might have big games as Arky shifts more attention to Randle

Our run defense was just as ba last year. It's so frustrating. Our defense is the bend but don't break type. We somehow idk why but we beef up in the red zone.

The Johnson vs your coverage on kickoffs will be interesting to see. Maybe he can take some of the stress off our offense by getting us in good field position. We love the Fullback here at Ark. Expect to see a lot of him to try to help out in blocking to protect Wilson.

IMO that's the key. Get to Wilson the offense can't function.

This scares me, but our OT's did pretty good against USC a couple games ago. Against USC, Petrino called a lot more rollouts and had the pocket move for Wilson more. I think USC only got one sack.

Injuries had something to do with that, and also I think Petrino's defenses get better as the year progresses each year. That's how it was in '09 and in '10. I just don't think we have the depth to get our defense prepared for what they have to face in SEC physical running teams, but by the end they are usually tackling and playing much better, as is the case this year.

Also, we have played some great running backs this year and they should be given their due (Gray and Michael from A&M, Richardson and Lacy from Bama, Scott and Bolden from Ole Miss, Stacey from Vandy, Ballard and Perkins from MSU, Dyer and McCalebb from AU).

Thank you. I actually thought arky would have a strong d. Glad to see Nelson isn't doing as well this year. He annoyed the shite out of me last year.

Gonna be a good game.

Interior lineman (our defense vs ur offense)

We have the ability to make heisman contenders out of ordinary running backs as well as mobile qb's

Beckham almost worries me more than Randle. I could see his agility being exploited against our lesser cover men.

Zack Hocker vs. John Chavis - gotta make LSU pay if they take away the deep ball and we get stalled around the 30

Btw, if you see #8 on the field for Arkansas and see him frick up a lot. Give him some slack when you say how bad he is, he is a true freshman out there

Have been some serious WTF games this year from our rush D. As fatback points out, somehow we spot anyone running the ball 20 yards before we attempt to tackle. Sureal to watch. Granted against weaker teams, the D has looked like they are finally connecting the dots the last few weeks.

Wilson has gotten a rep for being a tough WHO this year, mostly because the OL lets someone through every play. Even when he gets the ball off, he still takes some big hits. If this happens Friday, you may get to see our 2nd string QB early.

If the line gives him a half second longer to throw, he will have a big game.

I'm also anxious to see the over/under on false starts and holding on #71 Peacock

What time does that line come out?

I think a big match up will be our nickel and Dime CB vs their slot receivers. if they give us an excuse to like up in nickel we will take it. i like baker to cover a te, and Mathieu to cover an slot receiver.

Another one to look at is Adams vs himself. he is gonna want to make a difference in the punting game, but needs to know when to fair catch. I am hoping he tries too much, because Matheiu and Brooks are gunning for him, and will have plenty of time to get their with Wing punting.
