The Cotton didn't become major again until this year. All college football fans know that, and it was the 1986 season.

Based on the same logic displayed as "since joined the SEC".

The cotton bowl is one of the oldest bowls around, steeped with tradition and often had top 10 matchups.

It was and will continue to be a major bowl.

Call me old, whatever. Was around in 64 when we won the natty. I know alabama claims it too, even though they lost to a team we beat. I remember some other big bowl wins when we had several players suspended. With your record against us I would just shut up and enjoy the last 3 years. Even a blind bulldog kinds a kibble every once in a while.

No, it was and died off with the SWC. Then it became another bowl just taking the 3rd and 4th best teams from certain conferences. This year it was added as a major bowl once again and for the first time the Peach joined the group. Again, anyone that knows a little about college football knows this.

I bet you're one of those stolen valor pussies that buys bars and medals at Military surplus stores and tells stories about getting an injury that kept you from being a SEAL.

Yeah, I'm an idiot because I know college football. I don't "pick" fights on the internet. The damn head of the Cotton Bowl said from 1995 until this year the bowl was "out in the cold" as far as major bowls. Yeah, Arkansas' history has been better than MSU. Your fans poke fun at MSU, but the fact of the matter is that on the scope of college football Arkansas hasn't been a major player for 40 years or so save a season here or there. Almost similar to Ole Miss.

Yes, 23 years total. What does that have to do with anything?

Btw, I pulled for state during their bowl, just did not like your puffed up attitude over nothing.

It may have been back a while, but at least I can remember no being relevant and Mattie's in football and basketball and a crap load in track. But at the end of the day it does not get me a pay raise. Enjoy your good year, no need to run your lips.

I was not asking you, but respect that you have. I don't know why the military was brought up. Guess my Navy football symbol. Don't mind Arkansas. I know your history is better than ours. Just defending my school. I'm right on that Cotton Bowl stuff though. It was once one of the best then fell off when it was left out of the BCS. Getting back in the big 6 renewed it's relevance. Even bowl officials acknowledge that. Going to the Cotton from 1995 until last year was not the same. Even we went to one in 1998.

That is because they lost their conference champion tie in when the SWC folded.

The orange bowl was nothing special during that time either.

They were in the BCS rotation so yes it was. After the BCS started having a seperate championship game along with the bowl the matchups got bad, but it was still considered major along with the Sugar, Rose, and Fiesta.
