I agree with this post.

If you combine this with my hard hitting offense analysis posted earlier, you're looking at a Hogs team contending for an SEC title, and dare I say, playoffs?

Too early to tell, but the SEC has now been put on notice. Hogs are back, baby!

As serious as one gets on a college football message board I suppose.

I forgot to even mention the H8 part too- ugh. Are you 12?

Also, all joking aside, I can verify that Hogs defense gave up last season. The players didn't want to play for Smith anymore. Smith did not game plan for opposing offenses. He thought his defense was so crazy good that he could play SEC opponents in his base defense and win. His defense is not designed to attack an offense.

In short, he sucks. Bielema made a bad hire bringing him here to begin with.

I just think you take this forum a little too seriously. Or I don't take it serious enough. One of the two

Well you finished 8th in the SEC last year giving up 426 yards per game, so we will see.

msstate was like worst in the country last year... i expect us to move up 70-80 spots to due to increase in talent and DC that actually know how to coach a decent defense. so no arky will not be most improved

I would not be surprised if Mizzou really jumped in that category, especially we were 118th in total defense. More turnovers, less yards, less TD, and our Offense taking more time. Should be fun

Well yeah, there's literallt only one direction to go from 56-3 and 543 rush yards in a conference game.

Paul Rhodes is a legit DC though.

The defense will improve, but by how much? The Hogs drove me crazy last season when the defense was never ready for the snap and lacked intensity. They were constantly looking over at the sidelines for signals. You can't do that and play fast.

It is easier to have a big jump on defensive performance than offense. It could happen for the Hogs. They have some good talent. They need to arrive at the ball with bad intentions.

That's what I was thinking. How in the hell were there 6 defenses worse than ours?!

It's plausible. If Arkansas' defense progresses to simply "shite," that would indeed be a massive improvement.
