I hope we keep him. transfer the girl out of the football program but give her an equally unheard of position within the athletic department. Schedule her and petrino a 3 hour alone time meeting each week and move on.

Petrino has got to go. This is not just about an inappropriate relationship with a random person off the street. Instead, he hired a person with whom he is having an "inappropriate" relationship, hence putting the University of Arkansas in legal jeopardy. (Many, many sexual harassment cases begin with what appears to be a consensual relationship.) Any other cases arise and it appears that Arkansas has created a climate that supports such behavior. He then initially tried to cover this up and directly lied to the press about this. Given Petrino's previous behavior--which suggests his familiarity with the truth is not extensive--it would be natural for Arkansas to wonder if this is the tip of the iceberg.

I actually think that Arkansas can hire a stud coach to replace Petrino, even under these circumstances. Think about it. Arkansas lost only two games last year, one each against the two teams that played for the national championship, and the lion's share of top players from that team is returning. Arkansas is going to be a phenomenal team with the right person at the helm. I suspect that there are many excellent coaches who would not mind trying that team on for size. Wash your hands of Petrino and move on to bigger, better things.

If Petrino is let go, or resigns, I have expressed on here who I would like to us target.

You know, NWA looks a lot like West Virginia.

LOL... Petrino cared more about his ego and getting some from some slut than the good of the program. I care more about the good of the program than blind loyalty to that kind of coach.

Dorrell has entered safe mode and not returning phone calls to any friends.

quote:

Since then, Dorrell has not been spotted. The Associated Press spoke with a former volleyball player and friend of Dorrell's, a former Arkansas volleyball player and athletic department fundraiser.

That friend, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the AP that the "volleyball program's alumni have reached out to Dorrell."

"We feel like we have to do all we can right now to protect her. She's done so many great things, but all of that is wiped out in the eyes of some people now. She's not a bad person."

AP reports that Dorrell hasn't "returned calls from friends since the police report was released Thursday."

"She's in safe mode right now," the person said. "Everyone has made mistakes. Everyone has dirty laundry, but not everyone has their dirty laundry shown on national television."

She supposedly met with Jeff Long yesterday.

Long put out a statement today that said this will continue through the weekend, at least.

Last year, our offensive line took a hit when Anthony Oden got another DUI. Then Rasner got poppoed with some criminal offense, then Peacock, then Whitehurst, and now this "scandal" from Petrino. Just way too much "shite" going on for what should be a top notch program.

This can't be true

Hogville told me they were all angels and only Auburn players were thugs

I guess I'm cynical, but am of the belief "they all do it, the great one's just don't get caught". Whatever we do, it needs to be swift, exact, and defendable.

Ham, some here have your back. I personally could care less if Saban himself took the Arky gig, or Malzahn, Meyer, Stoops, Richt, Brown, etc..

It's a matter of principle, honor, and legalities. Univ of Ark fans deserve better.

good for you. if petrino slides through this situation with some restrictions and retains his job, it will just reinforce what looks to be a pattern of totaly narcissistic behavior on his part.

he will eventually put arkansas in another bad position, whether it's with another chick, recruiting or just leaving them in the middle of the night. he has yet to suffer any major repercussions for some of the questionable things he has done.

If Petrino is retained, there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the SEC Rant by fans of other schools.

Actually, Warthog(obviously of the damn-the-torpedos UA fan faction)..

I'm kinda intrigued either way, to see if he stays, what level of bad karma, recruiting tax to be paid by retaining him as HC, and overall backlash and mocking comes Ark's way during his tenure..

But, also intrigued, if like when Saban transitioned into Miles at LSU, if say a Malzahn comes in, and puts his own stamp on things, what can he do.

Have you checked out his latest mug shots?

On a more serious note, you can rest assured that he's catching a lot of flack right now...more than he ever has. He doesn't want to lose his job and is getting plenty of time to do a bit of introspection and self-assessment.

But at the moment, he probably can't decide whether to shite or go blind and is just doing the best he can to maintain by letting 'em rip with one eye shut, while at the same time trying not to stink up the place any more than he did by sharting all over himself and the entire countryside of northwestern Swine country a few days ago.

I truly don't think that firing him is the best alternative at this time. But that's just my opinion.
