Any chance that you guys would lobby for the Independence Bowl? Obviously its at the bottom of the pecking order but not getting the Texas Bowl or Music City, went to Liberty last year & Belk/Birmingham are some serious hauls from Fayetteville?

Are you saying Birmingham is farther away from Fayetteville than Shreveport?

Edit: Yep you're right, I was thinking Baton Rouge.

I think the Blue Mist is gonna get Music City. They will want UK or UT if Vols slip over Ark. Though if I was an Ark fan I would want Nashville too.

Yes but you have to remember where Fayetteville is located in comparison to our whole state. All the Arkansas fans aren't located in Fayetteville.

No doubt but of the available teams/bowls Arkansas is no doubt the most accessible to Shreveport. I'm just happy Vandy is going to a bowl and if its Independence that's great but that Dec. 26th date from Nashville is going to be a killer for me personally. Unlike Arkansas most of Vandy's fans are centered around Nashville or scattered throughout the country.

I don't mind traveling further away for a city that would be more exciting before and after the game. I think most would agree.

Hell, I would not let them go to any Bowl. But since I'm not the AD, Shreveport serves our team just right.

We are just hoping and praying for a super slow Midwest or lower tier Big 12 team at this point so we can exit the season with some shreds of dignity.

Arkansas will travel to most anywhere for a bowl game but Liberty, Texas, and Independence are in our back yard.

Belk, for example, would seem to be close enough to Vanderbilt to get a turn out for your team.

frick Jeff Long. frick Bert. frick Rob Smith. frick Rory Segrest. frick Kurt Anderson.

Why waste money traveling and going to watch a team who is so bipolar that you won't know if they'll come prepared or with their heads so far up their asses?

Any bowl where we can play a team that can't run the ball.

All the lower tier bowls suck so just give us a winnable match up and that means a team with a bad rushing attack.

Well on the pos side - we should win the bowl given our WLWLWLWL record the last how many ever weeks.

But I kinda share your sentiment overall.

This.

The best matchup for us would be to play a team that can't pass, can't run, has a horrid run defense, is slow as frick, and is coached by a coma patient.

What do you own? Curious as if I could support a fellow S'porter/Bossierian's business.

I would imagine very few of our fans will attend no matter where we play. People don't want to see this team play another game.
