National Championships are extremely hard to come by, and incredibly rare. Only one per year is awarded, and many times, the same blue-blood programs will get it. My opinion of basketball and football is the same: It doesn't matter if we win the NC or not, all that matters is that we're in the race year-in and year-out. It's why I always laugh when over-emotional fans of schools like LSU, Georgia, and Oklahoma start bitching about their HCs in football. They truly don't know how good they have it, because much of their fanbase has either forgotten what it was like or has never experienced their program being in a state of stagnation. Les Miles, Bob Stoops, and Mark Richt are all good for 10 wins every year, and the years they don't win 10 are somewhat of an anomaly. Despite all of the Internet shite talking, no one is actually laughing at these HCs, because they're dangerous every season, and their teams are never marked down as for-sure wins. They're respected and feared.

Do I think Mike Anderson will win a NC? I don't know, don't really give a shite. Looking at his track record, reaching the tournament every year seems like something we can count on, and he's proven he can go mid-way through it. It's a numbers game, and the longer we retain this guy, the better our chances of finally winning it all will be. If you're entertained throughout the season and you still have a reason to watch the games up until the very end because your team is good, what more can a reasonable person honestly ask?

Arkansas has a real shot at making a deep run the next two seasons if everything goes right. Most emportantly next season, we must keep Portis and Qualls. They will be some of the best players in the conference and possibly even the nation if they continue to improve. We must also have have some people step in for Madden and Harris. New additions Jimmy Whitt and Ted Kapita look to be pretty promising upgrades talent wise but must transition well during their first year. Much like Anton Beard did this season. We will also gain a very good shooting guard in Dusty Hannah's who is a native Arkansan but transferred in from Texas Tech this last fall. We must also land Malik Monk for the 2017 season to have a real shot at a deep run for another year. That would also be Bobby Portis' senior year. It's almost scary to think about how good our basketball team could be. Hopefully Kentucky won't pick up another 6 McDonald's all Americans in the mean time and we can win an SEC Title and lock up a potential 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA's.

That's the dream anyway.. Go Hogs

Frankly, I would doubt it. Winning a national championship in basketball is like catching lightning in a bottle for most programs in the SEC, with the possible exception of Florida. As said above, although it would be nice for it to happen, winning a national championship isn't necessary for a successful program. Being in the conversation on a regular basis is. If we can keep going back to the tournament and making it past the first round, then I think most will be satisfied.

In a way, it's a curse to win the championship - after that, anything less is a failure to most fans. Even Nolan, with basically the same team, couldn't repeat in '95 or thereafter - and, 7 years later, he was gone - you can say it was his big mouth that got him fired in 2002 but if he had been consistently producing national championship contenders he could have said what he said and not have been shown the door.

Honestly, why do you think this is a troll? I think it's a fair question just like the thread I posted on the Arkansas Board.

Please explain why you consider the following questions (posted on Arky Board) to be a troll:

Mike Anderson is from the Richardson coaching tree. Who will be MA's heir? Are there any up-and-comers from the Mike Anderson coaching tree that you would like to see eventually coach Arkansas after Mike Anderson retires?

Now, please explain why you consider the following question to be a troll:

Do you believe that Mike Anderson will bring another national championship to Arkansas? If so...why? If not...why?

Pray tell, Piggilicious....

For once I'm not even trolling. I just asked a legit question.

Somehow that legit questions automatically lumps me in with shitty posters like Tickfaw.

Unbelievable.

I need Latarian and NCrawler to come here to back me up. They know me and my intentions to be honest.

You mean just like when an Arkansas fan asks a legit question and gets torn a new a-hole just for having a Hogs icon beside their name.

Craig you need therapy son. Don't let one loss to the Razorbacks define your entire life. At this rate I'm worried you'll be in a nursing home and suddenly start screaming "17-0" before assaulting an orderly with your colostomy bag.

Right now, Arkansas seems to be on the upswing. We should be, we had the SEC POY on our team. We need to recruit well, but we also need to coach well. Mike Anderson's weak point so far has been coaching an effective half court offense.

He loves to run and gun but he doesn't have a fall back plan if that is not working. I like him as our head coach going forward, but I think he needs to work on that to get to the next level.

Maybe. He's has taken two inferior programs to the elite eight. Not to far of a stretch to take Arkansas a little further.

This could be the problem.

As a few others have said I hope the team is always competitive and a tournament team. I also hope we have kids that do well in the classroom and don't do anything to embarrass the School.
