First, let me clearly state that I believe Mike Anderson to be a good to sometimes great coach. The following question has nothing to do with his coaching experience at Mizzou when he led the Tigers to an Elite 8.

Question: Do you believe that Mike Anderson will bring another national championship to Arkansas?

If so...why?

If not...why?

If you truly wanted a legit thread you would have just posted this on our board where you would get actual discussion.

Actually, I have a very good relationship with most Arkansas fans sans Stonehog. Even Porker and I met up in St. Louis in January and he proved to be a pretty cool dude. His boyfriend iHamthatiHam was alright...sort of bitchy.

No. But I believe in 5 years (if our new AD doesn't fire him before then) Kim Anderson will lead Mizzou to another Sweet 16. He may take us back to an Elite 8 before he retires (once again, all things considered).

I truly believe this.

Yet, I'm in the vast minority of Mizzou fans who believe Kim Anderson is the perfect coach for Mizzou's future success.

Not only will it happen, but it'll happen this year. You'll see. YOU'LL ALL SEE.

Maybe, maybe not

He will make us compete for sure, which is quite an improvement from when he arrived

He will put us in the tournament with a top half seed on the reg

Hard to predict who does what in the NCAAT...all depends on seeding, who gets hot, etc. That could be us, or not. All I want is him to put us there with a chance to succeed

Brushing aside your stupid question (actually probably about right for a Mizzou fan):

Mike Anderson is a very good fit at Arkansas. We'll be in the dance every year now, typically second fiddle to UK in the SEC, but closing that gap as recruiting slowly and steadily improves.

If we keep stealing the best players the state of Misery produces...ala Whitt...then maybe we'll accelerate that pace.

Every 5 years or so, Anderson will have team capable of winning it all. Doing that is an entirely different proposition and requires some good fortune.

Mizzou on the other hand...will always be pitiful.

We certainly hope he will win a Natty. Whether he does it or not who knows? If the program is able to build on the success of this season that would go a long way to helping us towards being able to compete for that goal.

Even though the conference had a miserable first weekend other then Kentucky I think the SEC is on the uptick in basketball. There are several solid programs that can put together good teams and you have to expect that Florida and Mizzou will be a lot better in the long run then they were last season.

A lot will depend on the next couple of years. If he doesn't build on this year then I say no. If we improve next year then its possible.

We have allocated our funds to the football program so we can pimp smack that football team of yours on a constant basis.

Please understand tRant doesn't count Elite 8 appearances further back than Arkansas' 1990s national title. Apparently that's when basketball began...
