you realize the reason his record is that way is because of petrino recruiting right?

You went 0-8 because Bret decided to try and bring his big 10 type football to the SEC and it didn't work. He has adjusted since.

Take away his reckless behavior and Petrino is a top 10 coach in the college game. But it's just a fact he's reckless. If it wasn't the motorcycle incident, somewhere else down the line his reckless behavior would have caught up to him. A man like that doesn't deserve to be head coach of Arkansas. I know others "warned us" about his behavior when we hired him, but I don't think he was ever shown to be reckless before we hired him. Questionable ethics, possibly, but not reckless.

The one thing Petrino had on Bert was QB play and passing game. Bert overcame that last year when he showed he's a capable of hiring an OC who can install a pro passing game as good as anyone.

Bert's better for defense, he's better at recruiting across the board, he's better at development, he's a better judge of character, he's better at hiring and developing assistant coaches. It's not even really close if you care more about who is the best overall coach instead of only who's a better play caller.

He also had an inexperienced QB, mediocre WR corps, and no decent backup QB (AJ Derby was our backup QB for godsakes). He was playing the cards he was dealt.

I actually miss the Petrino days at Arkansas. His offenses were so efficient and fun to watch and the Arky fans on here were epic at trolling while they were winning. Those were the good ole days.

After Petrino has a successful season this year and Gus sucks again, I could see Auburn hirin Petrino and bringing his offense back to the SEC. Kind of a scary thought at what he could accomplish at Auburn.

Well, we did go 5-3 in the SEC West.. which is kinda like going 17-0 in the East.

yes Petrino did so well against Bama

Bert has been closer in beating Bama. Petrino style was never going to beat Saban but once in maybe 5 years with Saban there. He did a good job against everyone else but wouldn't want him back because he is a liability. If you could erase his past and promise no future issues than probably yes.

I bet you miss Urban Meyer. Although, Jim Bob Duggar is a fiery coach.

By "Big 10 type football", do you mean power football on offense mixed in with play action passing? Because most of the SEC runs that, too. Including Florida. SEC and Big 10 have a lot of similarities in style of play, but the SEC just has better players.

Basically he's saying that he doesn't know much about football other than what media says.

If you're scared, just say you're scared...

Bielema isn't a microwave, quick success, type of coach building a foundation out of straw. He's building it right and will continue to improve his record as the players develope.

Patience grasshopper....

I'm not a Hogs fan, but I think Bielema is a very good coach. He's at a disadvantage trying to compete, in the SEC West, at a school with scanty recruiting grounds. Yet he's punching above his weight...I mean that figuratively, of course.

You need some help son. You are one of the prime LSU weirdos that keeps trying to get us to insult you. Its some sort of sick sexual thing y'all seem to get off on. Find another fan base for this perverse thing you have going on.

Petrino was not going to dethrone Bama but he did a great job at Arkansas for the talent he could get there. Petrine is not at Arkansas right now for the same reason they were able to hire him. He is a great coach but he is dirt bag who you know is not likely to last long when you hire him. Bielema is a coach that is a better fit at Arkansas . He talks a lot of trash and Arkansas fans seem to like that , plus it's not like he is good enough to leave Arkansas for a better job and not likely to be fired for off the field problems. Bielema is Arkansas' long term HC and that seems to be what they want .
