Here are the facts.....Auburn has had some up and down years. Arky has had some up and down years. Arky's best years don't come close in comparison to Auburn's best years.

Any Auburn fan being honest would say they worry a bit about Arkansas, not like we are on the same level but loosing to arkie normally means an average to below average season. Winning keeps all the goals out front.
I know bert is the coach there now, and that in itself requires some loyalty see Auburn fans 2011-2012. However, I imagine most level headed arkie fans think bert pushes the envelope a bit with his mouth. Not in a good way like CSS but in a bad way like Lane.

I mean, what kind of insecure fanbase freaks the frick out like the barners just did when an opposing coach simply says he hates them? Shouldn't all coaches hate their opposition? If Gus said he hated Arkansas I'm pretty sure we would just laugh, maybe let out a little smile like "oh, that makes sense," and move on with our day - as would most sane people/fanbases. This thread was like a case study on insecure little brother-ness, and it exceeded expectations.

The shitty part is I actually like Arkansas and have never IRL had a problem with the fans. Friendly when visiting them and nice people to tailgate with. I am hoping that the head coach saying this doesn't sour the fanbase from being as nice as they have been. That is my only problem with this whole thing. I don't really "Hate" any team or fanbase, but i do hate specifiic people and mindsets. This only gives douchebags more go ahead to be even bigger douchebags which sucks.
Sidenote: my IRL experiences are a stark difference from what I see on this board. There are many posters on here that you can tell hold real hate for anyone associated with a school (piggilicious RIP).

Can't disagree, I've always had a good time with Auburn fans IRL - probably the most out of any of the other fanbases. This thread is just a microcosm of what makes the SECr what it is.
Still think the quote from CBB is being blown out of proportion either way though.

I actually agree, but he said it to a booster club meeting and probably didn't expect it to become a news item. He still should have been more sly, but people love that he's so honest and says whats on his mind. It's not just Arkansas fans who like it or he wouldn't be so popular with the national press.

Yeah you are most likely correct. I mean the people that come onto a message board are pretty much the most hardcore of the fanbase which is why tempers flare so quickly. Every now and then I have to take a step back and remind myself that not everyone is this way
Granted we all want to beat the hell out of every other team, I think it is just not common to hear a HC say something like this (albeit I could see an old school Auburn coach say something about Bama like this) which is why people are drawn to this thread. Any which way, I will let the pot stirrers do their thing in here
