Esp when your full team is not on campus yet.

I would not be very happy with Gus is he were prepping for the first game already.

it does come across very mullen-ish... and it's probably more getting ready for the unique offenses. you run the risk of making an early game your "super bowl"... which could springboard you into a nice season... or a loss could have the opposite effect.

Bert has coached more games than me but we have the same number of wins in SEC play.
