Arkansas will be a powerhouse on Tuesday night. Thats all that should fricking matter to you.

Maybe in the 1960s and possibly in the future IF Paterno stays, but not now. They're not even in the top half of their own conference as far as prominence goes today.

True dat. We consider ourselves to be very good this year (our team anyhow). I think most of us believe that we'll be very good for the next few years at the very least. A powerhouse now? Nah, but it's very possible to build a powerhouse at Arkansas, we'll just have to wait and see.

First off, Paterno coaches at Penn State.
2nd, Arkansas was a top 10 winning program from 1960's through the 1989 season. Just a little FYI for you.

To me, the only really dominant "national powers" are "great ones" like Boise State and Ohio State who revel in their glory every year by dominating marginally "lesser great ones" within their respective conferences every year.

How many teams in the nation would win 10 games playing the Hogs's schedule?
@ Auburn, LSU, Bama, @ USC-E, @ MSU, Texas A&m (in Dallas), @ Georgia. How many teams could go 5-2 through these games? Arkansas did, and had leads in the 4th quarter in its two losses, and one loss was in part the result of bad officiating and to undefeated AU at Auburn.
For any given season, how many "national powers" are their typically? 2-4? If Arkansas beats OSU soundly, it will be a top 5 finish, behind AU, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Oregon. We may not yet be a "national power" but a top 5 finish gives some substance to the argument that we are or about to be a national power.
