All but one features Alabama, I know. But every single one of these games was pretty intense. Most of the rest are pretty forgettable.

1992: ALA-28 FLA-21
1994: FLA-24 ALA-23
1997: TEN-30 AUB-29
2008: FLA-31 ALA-20
2012: ALA-32 UGA-28

You left our Mississippi State vs Tennesse the year they went undefeated and won a National title. MSU held the lead the entire game until the last 6 or 7 minutes when UT scored twice.

^ What a douche bag

No, these are not the 5 best SEC championship games.

Yes, they probably are to you, as an Alabama fan.

You are a homer, nothing wrong w that. I'll give you an example of an "LSU homer" SECCG game that was pretty intense that you probably don't give a shite about. Just like no one gives a shite about the games you listed years later.

-2007, LSU is ranked #1 and loses to Arkansas in triple OT last week of the season...
-Kirk herbstreit announces we are losing our coach leading into SECCG.
-Our starting QB is out for SECCG
-les miles announces he will stay at LSU in an emotional press conference leading up to game
- LSU beats tennesse on a pic 6 (20-14) and goes on to beat Ohio state for the BCS national championship

Or how about LSU beating tennesse in 01 with a backup quarterback keeping them out of the NC.
I'm sorry Alabama was forgettable that year, doesn't mean the teams involved didn't find it "intense", or that it didn't have nc implications

I'm sure every other fanbases that has been involved in an SECCG game has their own stories/memories as well.
UF and Arkansas had a hell of a game in 06 too, when UF went on to win the NC... Douche bag

The go ahead TD throw and catch from Martin to Price was F-I-L-T-H-Y. Threw it into a one foot window to a receiver tightly covered and pinned against the sideline and he made an incredible grab.

Agreed and why I don't know how that game isn't listed among the top 5.

Based on the last 2 days, I would say:

2016: Sweet 16 Aggy v. Okie

I remember that game.

Tennessee won in September of that year, and in the SECCG rematch, LSU came to life.

I deserved it. I should have stayed on topic.

Seriously, though. I remember that 2001 Tenn v. LSU SECCG. I remember thinking that LSU was about to become a force with which to be reckoned. I was right.

I guess you could say that or you could say that was one of Fulmers worst choke jobs ever. That UT team was LOADED.3 of the top 15 playrs taken in the NFL draft.I believe they had 8 players drafted total. Also had beaten
LSU earlier in the season.

Woulda played Miami for the NC had they won.

That was proof of how a team can improve over the year. one of sabans best coaching jobs, imo.

He had the talent, dinardo had done a good job there, saban just molded it together. Lsu would have hung with anybody in the country at that point of the year. They destroyed a very good illinois squad in the sugar

That was the year after Tenn's NC, right?

Tee Martin left in 2000? Or was it the following year? At some point, Casey Clausen or Danny Ainge's kid took over at QB.

But, I would say that was LSU's coming out party. They were finally getting the DiNardo stink off, and Saban had the program moving up fast.

I remember being so fricking jealous of that coaching hire. RC Slocum needed to go and every other big program surrounding A&M had made outstanding hires (Mack Brown at the fricking longhorns, Bob Stoops at blowU, Saban at LSU).

LSU hires probably the greatest coach in NCAA history. Three years later, Aggy hires the greatest fraud in NCAA history.

frick LSU.

the '92 game wasn't really all that intense ... bama dominated, then florida dominated, then the pick 6 ...

That year was probably Mississippi State's greatest defense. The OL was good too but no real QB. Tennessee wore us down late 4th quarter but it was a great game.
