I guess I don't understand why other schools look at this as strange. It's a very small area on campus with sidewalks along it anyway. You would have to go out of your way to walk on the MSC grass, basically.
It's a noninvasive symbol of respect for people that died fighting for the United States. I think that should be appreciated.

It does, weagle99.
Not unlike graves at Arlington Cemetery (and elsewhere), mowing is for maintenance.
Obviously no one is going to be shot, should they walk on the MSC grass.
We don't check our common sense at the door; it's just a simple request, that's all.

Isn't there something about wearing hats on the TAM campus or something
Posted on 5/7/14 at 6:29 pm to LanierSpots
Only in the Memorial Student Center--the same building we've been discussing with regard to the grass.
Visitors are asked to remove their hats while inside:

If you poke a sorority girl at the old cannon lathe behind Langdon Hall at Auburn, you will grow up to be a millionaire. At least it worked for me...

You're not supposed to walk across the metal Auburn University Seal in front of Comer Hall. Its bad luck if you do.
If the cannon lathe next to Samford Hall spins when a girl walks by it, that means she's a virgin.
You're not supposed to walk through the University Gate at Toomer's Corner if you're a freshman.

What a little bitch.
A&M put more military personnel and more officers into WWII and Vietnam than all the service academies combined. That ROTC program has a pretty solid history.

The overwhelming majority of their posters are.
It borders on ridiculous.
This board would benefit hugely from an ignore feature.

Actually wasn't. Didn't know if there was a story. The Lassie part was just having fun. I had been thinking about the UGA arch and then remembered the grass. Figured it was part of a memorial, but not just an extension of a memorial building.

For UA, the only thing I can think of is The Mound.

All you non-serving fricks at A&M that consider your selves equals with those of us whom have served, really grind my gears. It pisses me off when some little ROTC bitch tries to talk shite to people who did their Time in the infantry.

There are hidden tunnels beneath Ole Miss' campus that were used during the Civil War. I'd be willing to bet 90% of the student body doesn't know about them. I still don't know where the entrance to them are and supposedly you'll get in a shite ton of trouble if you break into them.

What the heck are you talking about?
I didn't serve, and I've never pretended that wasn't the case.
My respect and gratitude for you are unspeakably immense.
Moreover, I don't place those who have/do serve our country on any kind of continuum--they're all equally great.
