I imagine they make exceptions for school sanctioned things like tapping into honor societies or certain MDB things, but there are definitely always signs that say to keep off on gamedays.

or you know, its respecting a memorial. Whatever though right?
I'm typically all for making fun of you A&M weirdos, but count this rival as one that gets kind of pissed off when people start making fun of the grass. That is a cool thing and should be off limits.

I know that A&M has something with grass, which I guess is "dont walk on the grass". Do other schools have these types of "rules" that visiting fans would never know about?
When I studied at Cambridge one summer they literally had grass that only professors or fellows were allowed to walk on...people visiting got a lot of dirty looks if they did
I walked all over that motherfricker late at night stumbling back from the bars

I had one drunken night when I ended up by Samford and was stomping on the seal

"The next SMU score led to the cheerleaders spelling SMU again. On the "S" formation, the cadet ran onto the field (this could be considered a violation of the sanctity of the field in itself, but evidently the cadet quickly balanced posse comitatus vs. natural law vs. citizen’s arrest precedent and waded in) and kicked at a cheerleader. He then drew his ceremonial sword and brandished it. Unfortunately, this man of action was no match for the quick thinking cheerleaders, who quickly formed the "Three Stooges" formation where one kneels on his fours behind the target, and another pushes him. Luckily, nobody was cut. It fell to a policeman and Aggie defensive back to restore order by removing the cadet from the field."

That cheerleader pushing him down never gets old.

Oxford is the same way. It's an Anglo-American thing and it goes wayyyy back - while most American schools ditched the grass restrictions along with freshman beanies and single sex education, a few of the traditions remain in various forms depending on the school.

I always imagine that cadet yelling something like, "die you shameless cur!"

THAT is why I don't mind playing SMU every year.

Yessir, that douche deserved to have his arse kicked. He is lucky the cop got there before the rest of the cheerleaders.

That SMU cheerleader is pretty brave, pushing a guy with a sword.
But I think that is a constant theme with SMU:
-when everyone cheated, they were brave to the point of being brash about it
-when the other Texas teams cut us off, they still played us
-When they seemed doomed to a mid-major existence they made the bold leap to the Big East. Didn't work out, but a brave move
They were my second favorite university when I was applying.

Actually yes...skinny dipping is allowed and is encouraged for visitors at Lake Alice near the stadium.

It is "don't walk on a very certain area of grass connected to our memorial center."
Does this grass ever get cut?
