Are the 'Saban years' the closest LSU has ever been to dynasty status?

If so, how close was he to making LSU a dynasty?

Do you think LSU will ever achieve a period of dominance?

Given the number of great NFL players the state produces, I don't understand why they haven't already...and it's almost a given that they eventually will.

Yes, they are only one state away from Alabama.

This certainly isn't a loaded question.

Not sure if this is supposed to be a troll, but LSU from 2001-2011 was one of the best stretches in SEC history, second only to some Bama runs

4 SEC titles
2 national titles
1 National runner up

That is a hell of a 10 year stretch that LSU should be damn proud of. Not sure where the troll is here?

I know you're trolling but i'll go ahead and give you a legit answer since i'm just that nice a guy:

it depends on what you mean by Dynasty, we had a number of very good periods before Saban and have obviously been very good since.

if Dietzel had stayed in 61 who knows? Bernie Moore also got us very close. But yeah if we still had Nick I'm sure we'd be kicking everyone's arse.

Pj Fleck will finish the job

Not sure why this is popcorn worthy? Why would an LSU fan be mad talking about our best years?

I still can't believe y'all fired the coach who was responsible for most of those years.

Ok

And he isnt responsible for most of those years

2 SEC titles and 1 natty to Saban

2 SEC titles and 1 natty to Miles(with 1 SEC title and the natty being heavily influenced by Saban)

Possible? We are a lock after we demolish the supposed "best team ever" otherwise known as Alabama

Because even with their success, they know it will not last. They are trying to show who has the biggest.

You never trust a popularity contest
Would they take a 2 loss LSU over undefeated Baylor or Washington

Paul Dietzel had a better 5 yr period at LSU than Saban did.
