What does this mean? Are there rules that I am not aware of around fandom?

It means that it must be sad not have grown up going to NFL games. When I was a kid Saints games with my dad were awesome. thats all I meant.

I am a 49er/Bronco fan. I loosely follow my favorite AU players and yes Cam is one, but You don't see anything in my avi or sig that would show it.

Most Aggies are either Cowboys or Texans fans. Secondarily, we root for Johnny.

I'm not a huge NFL fan, but have tried to get more into it every year. I've always pulled for the Panthers, but I'll admit I became more of a Panthers fan when Cam was drafted. If you wanna see something wrong with that, go ahead.

Not even a little sad. Don't give a shite about the NFL, to be honest.

I'm a cam fan. Don't care for the NFL that much, but if the panthers are on then I'll watch to see how he does. He's a good guy that did a lot for auburn and despite the less than convincing arguments otherwise, does come back and give back to auburn.

I doubt it's any different than aggie fans wanting to see a former player do well.

I don't really remember Auburn fans reacting this way when Cam was drafted by the Panthers, and Cam even brought Auburn a national championship.

In my experience (and I have FAR too many Auburn friends), they're mostly Panthers fans. If they didn't really follow a team, they've gone diehard Panthers (Cam). If they do, Panthers are obviously their second team.

The funny thing is, if Cam ever decided to leave or got traded, all of those jerseys would go immediately to GoodWill.

ETA: I am friends w/ an Auburn grad who is a Falcons fan who hates Cam and the Panthers because they're a division rival. Respect.

A lot of Auburn fans grew up in Georgia, and only became Auburn fans when they couldn't get into UGA. So most of them root for the Falcons.

If you read Texags, every Aggie is a giant Browns fan, has a Manziel Browns jersey, and the Browns are their new favorite NFL team.

Vince Dooley could not get into UGA but could get a job there.
