Fresno State shut out the Sun Devils in Tempe. I think they go on a run. With two road P5 wins, they could make some noise.
too bad for them that this isn’t 2024..
they’d be front runners with Tulane for the G5 bid

Texas is too high...FSU's comeback win at Clemson was huge...FSU has the best wins so far so I'd put them at #2....Ohio State #3.....USC #4....Texas #5.

Good point...OU's gonna beat Texas.
You predicted Alabama and Baylor would beat Texas. I guess you're bound to be right one of these days.

Maybe. I think Oregon & UDub are better than USC.. maybe Utah too.
That being said. Caleb Williams is the best player in the country imo. He doesn’t always play like it, but then he’ll make a play that no one else can make.. and he does it several times every game.
I’m really happy he isn’t at OU anymore.

They're being penalized for playing good teams.
Well, that and they're not really good at the moment. Maybe UTx is getting too much credit for beating an okay Bama team in disarray.
The season will sort itself out.
Early polls are useless.
To add to useless early rankings, I'd have it:
1. Uga
2. Udub
3. Oregon
4. Utx
5. OsU
6. UsC
7. Um
8. Fsu
9. PSU
10. Nd

Your dumbass predicted a Baylor win. Not a credible poster

I'm sorry but Georgia is not the best team in the country, these voters need to watch games. If Bama didn't schedule Texas they would have had a top 15 win (against Ole Miss) something Georgia hasn't done, same for LSU. They're being penalized for playing good teams.
TLDR - The back to back national champions are looked upon favorably by the media in their weekly popularity contest

If the discussion is, how stupid preseason rankings are... sure.

What has UGA done or not done to drop from being ranked 1?
Better question: if preseason rankings weren't a thing what has Georgia done to earn the top spot?

We have no idea how good UGA is, but we do know that they are doing what they have done the last 2 season. Improving a little each week. Personally I wish the pills would come out the first week in October, always have. It does t matter where you are ranked as long as you end up in the top 4. Of the 9 champs in the CFP only 3 have been #1; and that’s just happened in the last 4 years.
However, tradition has always been if you are the champion and start the season as number 1 you don’t drop as long as you win. I have no problem changing that , but I’m pretty sure if roles were reversed you wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Anybody with Michigan’s schedule should not be ranked in the top 20. They make UGA look stellar

Nobody who has actually watched any college football this season would believe Georgia or Michigan are the top two teams this season so far

Polls are meaningless at this point in the season. That being the case UGA has not looked great. Looks like a team that is missing some chemistry and leadership. They looked about the same last year and struggled with some complacency against Kent state and almost FAFO against Mizzery. Best get right right quick though cause as easy as the schedule is it gets a little tougher now….

6 Penn St vs 12 Bama
7 Washington (1) vs 13 LSU
8 USC vs 20 Ole Miss
9 Oregon vs 21 Tennessee
10 Utah vs 22 Florida
On a neutral field? SEC wins the playoff games. And that's all that matters.

Guess they should put you in charge of the process, since you're smarter than the writers and broadcasters that make up the poll. We sure are fortunate to have you here in this forum.
