Everybody has trashed OU for not playing defense the past decade. Now they have one of the best defenses in the country, holding teams to 8 ppg and they get basically zero respect for it.

I’m not sold on Washington. They weren’t overly impressive in our matchup back in December. They had to run these gimmicky moving protections constantly to give Penix open looks. I’d like to see them play a team with some athletes in the trenches.

I disagree. I think they were the best team we played last year. Penix is damn good.
I hope we get a rematch in the playoffs.

SMU and Cincinnati were some of the top offenses in the country and OU held them to zero TDs. Cinci has two 1st round draft picks on the DL. OU has played similar competition to UGA, USC, Michigan, etc. Not saying OU should be top 5 but 14th behind several 1 loss teams is pretty much bullshite. .

We had one WR threat with a broken hand, a back up RB with a hernia, and our QB was struggling to hit a broad side of a barn the 2nd half of the season. I think there’d be much more fireworks in a 2023 matchup.
