I was going to start a thread earlier tonight asking if anyone, outside of Little Rock, would even know who Gus is without Mustain and Damian Williams?

I did not. I will say this. I like Gus. Auburn was easy to hate w/tubs there. Gus not so much.
I think he's a really good coach, but I also think auburn was the beneficiary of fortuitous bounces this year. Which isn't a slight at all to them. It takes that to win an nc.
One mark I a great coach? Team got better week end/week out. They for sure did that.
If I'm an aubie guy, I'm damn proud of the state of my program, and the fact the a classy guy got me there.

Agree, but the guy has had great success at every single stop he's made over the last decade. It's starting to get really hard to say he isn't a fantastic coach.

I was way wrong too. I wanted bobby and hated the idea of another "auburn man" coming in after how low we sank last season

He was the head coach of a team that just tied the record for biggest turnaround in CFB history. Has to be doing something right

Hell even if they lost those two, they're 9-3. 9-3 from 3-9 is still pretty good turnaround. I'd say that's a good coaching job righ there.

I thought so. I didn't want him there - his offense rocks. the only thing that stops him is himself. He got waaaay too cute in the second half of the BCS game.
I think he hangs around for awhile and leaves, hopefully, in the next few years to the pros.
