We gave a chance to Charlie Strong, a man who never got a chance in the SEC. That really shows a lot. Get back to me when you hire your second black head football coach.

How condescending.

"Gave him a chance."

More like he earned it.

Charlie Strong did earn it, you are right, too bad some SEC schools wouldn't hire him because of his race and his inter-racial marriage. See stuff like that doesn't matter up here.

Last time I checked Belle 1962 is before 1970.

So why has UofL never had a black basketball coach? UK has hired black HCs in both of our major revenue sports.

ETA: And you have still never answered the question as to why UofL didn't integrate until 1962 while being a "northern school"?

Your smack is weak.

Hiring a black coach who's married to a white chick isn't something to brag about. Just hire the best man for the job and be done with it.

Crowing about it means you have a small mind in that regard.

Oh and BTW Belle, I didn't even mention the fact that our men's tennis head coach is Asian, our women's tennis head coach in black and one of our previous baseball coaches is hispanic. I guess I should also mention several of our track and field coaches who are black as well.

Hmmm I don't know Belle because we've only had 2 Head Basketball Coaches since 1971. Last time I checked in that same period UK has had 7 Head Basketball Coaches. 1 black head coach out of 7 head coaches, not great.

I imagine once Pitino retires our next Head Basketball Coach will be black.

If you're question is why UofL hasn't had a black head basketball coach it's because we've only had 2 coaches since 1971! When the job came open in 2001 Pitino was the obvious choice by a wide margin. If a black coach had been the better choice we would've gone with that.

Again with that said when Pitino retires I imagine our next head coach will be black since Jurich and Ramsey like to promote diversity and I hope the next head coach is black.

Funny how quickly you all fired Joker, you all gave white coaches like Curry a lot more time than that.

BTW when we do hire our next head basketball coach and he is black, that means since 1971 33% (1 of 3) of our head basketball coaches will have been black. Only 14% (1 of 7) of UK head basketball coaches since 1971 have been black, enough said.
