AU's defense that yr was average at best, giving up 30+ to UK as one example.

AU actually had a top 5 or so rush defense. That was the toughest team to run against hands down that Oregon has ever faced, including LSU last year. Our mediocre passing attack was able to slice and dice them though. So, I agree that overall they were not great. However, match ups are important and Oregon runs first, so a good rush defense will go a long way against us (especially with Darron Thomas who was not particularly accurate). I could also say that LSU's rush offense had a bad day against that 2010 Auburn defense.

SEC defenses can run a 4.4 from sideline to sideline

Oregon's defense is very fast. The linebackers have skill position speed. Dion Jordan ran a hand timed 4.4 in winter conditioning. Boseko had D1 offers.

AU's defense that yr was average at best, giving up 30+ to UK as one example. And that AU defense shut them down cold. LSU shut them down cold last yr, holding Kelly's highpowered offense to only 20 points until a last second TD ( 13 seconds left) scored against LSU's second team defense. They have a great offense, but then so does Ok.St., Houston, Miz last yr, OU, etc etc. And how many NC's have any of those teams won? Coach Bo Pelini, when he was LSU's DC, made this comment when asked why the SEC's speed was such a factor: " every team has a WR or RB that can run a 4.4. in a straight line. SEC defenses can run a 4.4 from sideline to sideline". As evidenced by Mingo, a DE, running down from behind the Duck's speedy RB.

This isn't Last year's Oregon team, or the their team from the BCS game, though. Hell, the team that played LSU to start the season wasn't really the team that played in the Rose Bowl.

OK St, UH, Mizzou, etc. are not in the same stratosphere as UO, and you know it (with the exception of OK St last year).

Again I'm not saying Oregon would win or that they would benefit more from a month of prep. But to just laugh and change the channel at the suggestion they could beat Alabama is stupid (I know it wasn't you that said this), and indicative of the attitude that makes half the country hate the SEC (not that it matters or anyone should really care).

Oregon looks very small and skinny to me... no size at all to their team.. Sure, they have speed... but BAMA has SPEED and MASSIVE Size wich would just crush them like toothpicks.

BAMA is massive but Oregon is not small.

this coming from one of their toothpick fans... Really?

Wow, I am shocked.. I guess the TV makes them look 25 pounds lighter and makes BAMA look 40 pounds heavier then huh?

Oregon matched up well with Auburn and LSU. Oregon Auburn was clearly a evenly matched game. LSU was outgained by Oregon but Oregon lost due to turnovers. Oregon is a little smaller but a lot faster.

My step-father (Michigan fan) tried to regurgitate that shite to me.
Oregon has lost 2 years in a row to SEC teams. Their spped is good in Pac-12, which is average in the SEC. Until they get some big boys, they won't beat a top tier SEC team.

LOL. they lose by a FG at end of regulation to Auburn and "they cant hang with them"? How bad did Auburn beat LSU that same season?

LSU was outplayed and outgained by Oregon with LSU practically playing a home game. 2 fumbles deep inside LSU territory by 2 freshman ended up being Oregon's demise. Hardly call that Oregon not being able to compete with those teams. Didn't Oregon have a halftime lead too?

I think its more jealousy than anything by LSU fans because they could only dream of having an identity on offense like Oregon does.

I don't have a solid opinion on this issue because I haven't watched enough Oregon football.

However, I do remember how Utah beat Bama and Bama outweighed them bigtime. Nobody gave Utah a chance bc Bama's front was huge.

You really don't have to look back much further than this year to see how smaller more agile players can play with big boys. Ole Miss didn't have the size to compete with Bama but they still gave them fits.

How would a more skilled and faster team, with a better QB, such as Oregon, do...?

Oh, so playing on a mutual field and having a whole month to prepare a team is now equivalent to playing a team on the road with only a week to prepare.

By the way, what happened last year? Yeah, LSU curb stomped yalls arse. That Auburn team was the most incomplete out of the three (LSU last year, Bama this year). Offense in the PAC-12 is like jacking off. Everyone is good at. Once yall ever find out what defense is, then yall can stand a chance.

Show me "curb stomped" in these stats. Score looked the way it did because of Oregons turnovers inside their own 20. Oregon lead in most statistical categories. Getting dominated means you were outmaned in all phases. That didnt happen.
