Curley Hallman could drink all of them combined under the table.

He'd have to move his co-ed out from under there for them to all fit.

Sparky Woods and Brad Scott made most of our fanbase slur, does that count?

He said slur, not swear.

I remember the Vince Dooley show and he would always talk up the next team we were playing. We would be playing some cupcake and Dooley would say "Well we got Savannah School for the Blind next Saturday and they have a real good offensive line."

Yep, my dad always talks about marveling at Bryant, Jordan, Majors, etc always mentioning the kids name, where he was from and something about their momma or daddy as they talked about the tackle they made.

Classics. Must see TV. The star of his show really was Charlie Thornton, the asst AD. As much money as Bryant had they had the dinkiest little set. Some guy would make a good tackle, say Leroy Cook. Bear would boom, "Bingo, great play by Mike Hall."

Thornton would dead pan, "coach that was Leroy Cook;Mike graduated a few years ago."

Bryant would grin like 'you didn't really correct me did you?' and say,"Cholly, are you coaching this team or am I"

"You are,Coach." Awesome stuff.

Hahaha yes - "Bingo, that's a goody" is probably my dad's favorite phrase of all time.

I always loved that Bryant saying.

Growing up, must watch TV was the Auburn Football Review and The Coach Bryant show. Hell, it was the only in depth replays you would see in the ancient days before ESPN.

*ETA* - There was a game in the 80's, I think Auburn was playing some directional school and Dye just kind of ran out of things to say about the game and says "It was a beautiful day, there were chillun running everywhar." Don't know why, but that still makes me laugh.

Nick Saban does the same stuff. He pumps up every cupcake team we're about to face. A few months or even years down the road, at some club or road speech, he'll mention how sorry they truly were.

Wasn't a HC at UGA & I'm showing my age but I loved Erk Russell....

You'll note the common bloody forehead... Erk would head butt his "D" players to geek them up before games. Erk would be bare headed, his players had their helmets on...

He was awesome. I have some friends that are HS coaches that attended some kind of banquet or coaching clinic that Erk was speaking at and said he had some of the best stories they had ever heard.
