The 5 missed field goals in 2005, 0:01 in 2007, Lee's redemption in 2008. That was THE game for a while in the Weet before Saban got there.

He could have very easily ended Dorsey's career and he did it on purpose. But of course an Auburn/Chelsea fan will defend that.

I like Coach Tub. I know a lot of Auburn fans don't. His teams were hard nosed/hard hitting. He would lose games we had no business losing and he would win games when people didn't give us much of a chance. He had been at Auburn for 10 years and there were people behind the scenes that wanted him out for several years. I think that wore on him. He has as good a D mind as there is in the game, IMO.

2006 AU vs LSU

That game, 2003 UGA/LSU in Baton Rouge and 2011 Bama/LSU were the three most physical, hardest hitting games I can remember in this league in a long time.

Still consider AU/ LSU must see TV because of that string of crazy games in the 2000's.

Yep, and Bama was struggling to get to 6 wins and the Shreveport Weedeater Bowl. All was right with the world.

Mid-2000s Auburn teams?

ALWAYS gave us great games against LSU and Georgia

que? Let's qualify "mid-2000s" as 2003-2007. Results from UGA's perspective:

03- beatdown win
04- beatdown loss
05- close loss
06- beatdown win
07- beatdown win

As soon as Bama got their act together, Auburn's program under Tuberville fell apart. Plus he was way too conservative on offense which prevented his teams from reaching their full potential.

Bama and Saban had little to do with the demise of Tubs, he was almost fired in 2003. You are right about his offense. His biggest mistake was hiring an offensive coordinator that ran a totally different style of offense and not let him bring any assistants and keep all the old assistants.

The "end"?

You obviously didn't watch the whole game.

I'm assuming LSU has a standard procedure to kick players off of their teams that have ever been guilty of a chop block.

Its gotta be that way, right? Since chop blocks are the evilest of the evil and only evil people chop block? And because if a chop block occurs, its ALWAYS because it was coached and called? Never an assignment error?

I think this was the most physical game I have ever watched. Those two teams got after each other.

Tubbs teams never looked soft, that's for damn sure.

Meh, that 2003 team that lost at home to USC looked pretty soft at times.

Byrum in 07 still kinda rustles me, BUT...it's a good thing AU won because Georgia would've represented the East and not Tennessee and probably would've won it all.

One of my favorite games ever. All the hits were skull-rattlers.

Like 2 hammers hitting each other for 60 minutes. I was exhausted just watching it and still had UF @ UT later that night.

I sat in the stands using an LSU OL players family/friends ticket for the 2006 LSU @ AU game. It was my first game in JHS. Loved the war eagle pre-game. Refs sucked AU hard.

What a drama queen.

I'm not defending anything. It was a chop block. Dozens and dozens of them happen every fall Saturday. It's just remarkable the way LSU fans paint themselves as victims over and over and over again.

My question stands, does every player who has ever been called for a chop block cause as much sand for you?

I agree the SEC suffered in 2004 exclusively due to Auburns falling flat against USCw previous years.
