I would hope that no one would think that you were being disrespectful, but you never know. That pic gives us a good view of the injury. Thanks for posting.

It looked like he tore every ligament and some bones. That was AWFUL. Man, my heart hurts for him.

Just please let the vasculature be ok. Everything else will fall into place. It will take some time but he could still be a strong nfl rb in 2 years.

From seeing it once it definitely looks like there was collateral ligament damage as well. His leg really whipped through the air in a way that I don't think just a tib fx would warrant.

That's what I thought initially. Your lower leg normally doesn't face a different direction than your upper leg without some serious knee damage.

I'm hoping and praying for the best for him.

I think he will be ok the more I look at it. All of the ligament damage can be repaired in surgery. I think this is going to be one of those injuries that looks a lot worse than it turns out being at least I hope that is the case.

That is what got Prothro IIRC. Plus an infection.

The more I watch that injury, the worse I feel for him. He's got to have the most rotten luck of any college guy I can remember.

I'm hoping so too. There are so many advanced accelerated rehab programs available now. If he has the drive, which I'm sure he does, with the right therapists and doctors he can be back.

Im kinda surprised there hasn't been anyone posting rumors on the details and severity of his injury. Surely USCe fans have to be hearing something, right?

TP's injury was an open fracture to the tibia and fibula which is much different that what we just witnessed. Prothro had an open wound on the field that was contaminated with dirt and grass and he suffered a major post operative infection.

Also, with respect to the vasculature...the anterior portion of the tibia which is the part of the shin that you can feel just under the sckin has very poor blood supply in even when there is no injury at all.

I seriously doubt that there is any vascular damage to Marcus' knee from what I saw on tv. Vascular damage, if it occurs, usually occurs because the bone breaks and a shard of bone injures a vessel. Id din;t see anything in that injury that would lead me to believe that this has happened to ML.

Whatever the injury lets pray that he will be back soon and continue his career in football.

Prothro had an open tib fib and post surgical complcations that led to an infection. Scoop, I hope you are right and it's just ligaments, but sometimes with the hyper-extension that proceeds the ligament tears, you can get a tibial plateau fracture, where the femur punches through the meniscus and the bone of proximal tibia. What tore me up the most was not seeing the injury, but seeing this young man's face when he removed his helmet. I, literally, hate it for him.

Damn, my two fingers are cramping up and Scoop beats me to the punch, lol.

Man I hope his career isn't over. I really like watch Lattimore. Watching his leg after that hit is not easy to watch.

Hate to see it happen to someone with such a bright future.

That's the problem. USCe has like 3 fans on this board.

Saw it live and saw the leg and said shite!

When I saw his face it choked me up, I've cried at least 3 times today

If Robert Edwards managed to come back for at least a little bit of time after he almost lost his leg after his rookie year, I think Lattimore has a chance (however slim).

This is why LSU has a history of using multiple backs during a game and for the season. You ride one horse till he breaks down you are screwed.
