Lot of people in this thread don't know the difference between a chop block (illegal) and a cut block (legal).

Nothing worse than "fans" who don't even know the rules of the sport they claim to love.

Hope Garrett and Seals-Jones are okay

It's a shame y'all chop blocked Garrett. He's a great player.

Sad

Not to mention how often some form of that play is run every weekend in HS, college, and pros.

Just seems like someone the size of Skipper shouldn't have to resort to knee-diving to effectively block.

But I understand. The 6'10 dude had to prevent the 6'4 dude from "deflecting the pass."

So when the offensive line coach and OC tells him this play calls for a cut block....he should refuse and do his own thing?

Cut blocking on quick slants, screens, and stop routes is football 101.

Defending the cut block is also football 101.

I guessing....you played band.

And when your QB is 6'1" - 6'2"....you should see the problem with 6'10" and 6'4" standing between him and the WR on quick shallow passes.

Just sad that a program that prides itself on having big, nasty offensive lineman would have its biggest and nastiest take a swipe at a superstar's knees.

Just sad is all.

Why doesn't the 6'10 dude just throw the 6'4 dude to the ground?

He's a half foot taller and 80 pounds heavier.

Evidently. Given the reaction in the game thread it's just a miracle Garrett is still alive.

Skipper didn't do anything wrong. But I'd like to see cut blocks made illegal. Too many injuries as a result

Its football.

People are gonna get hurt.

No difference in cut blocking and tackling low. Its just one of those things that come with the sport.
