How in the frick is Maryland a superior football program to State?? Because they have money? So does Vandy. Maryland is a basketball school in the mid-Atlantic region of the country. Maryland would have to make some strides in how they prioritize football before you can make that claim..and that starts with the fans and culture. You're missing the mark on this one.

Their athletic department is in the negative. They don't have a football only practice facility. Can't sell out for senior night. I can go on. Maryland is a shithole. And they have just as tough of competition as state, without the benefits that come with being in the SEC. Their last coach made 2.1 mil a year, they aren't about to shell out 5 million or more a year for Mullen, before buyout.

Mullen is a great coach. Just imagine if he had a top 10 recruiting class. He gets the most out of those 2 and 3 star players.

I don't think shite that happened in the 50's and 60's really make them a better program. He would have a much harder time beating Urban, Harbaugh, Dantonio, and Franklin than what he faces in the SEC West. Mullen might leave, but it sure as hell won't be to freakin Maryland.

Yep. I'm 44. I remember Miami, Nebraska, Penn St, Pitt, SMU, Houston, etc. being dominant. I even remember Maryland being the class of the ACC in the early 80's. My son is 17 he remembers none of this. I tell him all the time about how this team used to be the stuff and whatnot. History matters less and less with millenials.
