5 SEC players who could clinch starter jobs in spring practice

quote:

QB Feleipe Franks, Florida

Stats: n/a

Florida’s quarterback play was erratic last season. Even when he was healthy, incumbent starter Luke Del Rio was not impressive. Del Rio completed 56.7 percent of his passes and had 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Four of his TD passes came in a game against Kentucky.

Del Rio is recovering from shoulder surgery this spring, which opens the door for Franks to get significant reps with the first team offense. Franks has a big frame and arm, which opens the offense significantly. Florida could use a jolt under center after years of disappointing offensive performance.

If Franks is indeed starting when Florida plays LSU this year, no matter what happens, there will pages and pages of trolling and fun.

Franks was an LSU commit for a long time, he wound up flipping to UF

So if Derrick Dillon starts for lsu will there be pages and pages of trolling since he was once committed to Florida

At this point we ought to hope the game is played as scheduled!

I mean the fans may boo him a bit harder but that kinda thing happens all the time in recruiting.

There was a lot of butt hurt on the recruiting board when Franks flipped to UF. We can pretend it didn't bother LSU fans but it did and I've seen posts pulling for the kid to fail.
The OP has a point. Hell I wish the kid the best but would still love to see him spend all day in the dirt when he faces LSU. Just being honest

I think there will be pages and pages of trolling and fun for LSU/Florida regardless of if it has to do with Franks

Yeah not quite to this extent though. He was committed for about 2 years and openly got his feelings hurt when LSU offered Shea, he did the same thing when UF brought Eason in for a visit. Kids a pussy and played LSU.

ETA: To answer Terry below me. No they did not. O came out and said he wanted a dual threat and Myles said he didn't fit Lane's system so he was concerned about playing for Kiffin. Lowell was an EE and was concerned because there wasn't an OC.

Franks was just straight up scared of competition which was probably the right choice. He looked like garabage in the Army game (1 for 7 , 8yds 0 TDs 2 INTs) and in Floridas spring game (5 for 11, 54yds 1 TD 3 INTs)

Didn't both of your QB commits openly get their feelings hurt when O randomly offered Tua this year?

Narcise never openly said it bothered him. Brennan had a issue not in that we offered Tua but question as to where the offense was headed. He didn't understand offering another duel threat qb and questioned if we were going to a option based spread attack.

I would think Dylan Moses is a bigger story than Franks this season.

Maybe in 2018-2019. Depth at that position is nuts.

High profile QB didn't want to play for Les and Cam...never seen that play out before...

That said, tic-tock gator bitches...I hope Franks starts.
