LSU has more SEC football titles than Auburn, and just two fewer than Tennessee.
When you look at just since 2000, it's those two who can't compete with LSU.

LSU has won 4 SEC crowns and 2 BCS titles since 2001.
Florida has won 3 SEC crowns, and 2 BCS titles
Alabama has won 2 SEC crowns, and 3 BCS titles
Georgia has won 2 SEC crowns, but no BCS title
Auburn has won 2 SEC crowns and 1 BCS title, but they fired the coach who won that BCS title, so they have a long way to come.
Anything before 2001 when Saban won his first SEC conference title is irrelvant in today's SEC.

Pre 1980, sure. But that is kind of like saying Ed Sullivan is the king of late night TV.
Bama dominated the 1970's and is dominating the 2010's, but outside of those decades there is a lot of "average" there. The 80's-00's was a lackluster 30-year stretch, and the 50's were awful.
