I think it's BECAUSE we are proud and secure about our SEC educations that ignorant, misinformed, sterotypical comments from people "up there", no matter how fricking 'lighthearted' you or others deem it to be - are insulting.
Some of the 'geniuses' up there really do believe them.

The comments about the SEC are no different than what fans say about the SEC all the time, no different than what we say about the Big Ten (14). That doesn't bother me, (but a university pres shouldn't say it).
Even the stuff about Notre Dame, I can even look past that.
The statement about Catholics in general, you cannot go there. That was way over the line.

I'm Catholic. It didn't bother me and I don't have particularly thick skin. I took his comment about "those damn Catholics" to be those that run Notre Dame University and not Catholics in general.

No I don't feel that I owe him anything; in fact, I should be pissed at him. I wanted Mizzou to join the Big 10.

Whether you love us or hate us, I'm proud to be in the SEC, so just don't include me as one of the ones who wanted to be in the big 10,11,12,...or whatever they want to call themselves these days. I love sundresses, gumbo, Louisiana women(was married to a women born and raised in Natchitoches)and Southern Culture. Was married in Nachitoches at a little white church at the end of 6th street on the right.( LSU fans that are familiar with the location check it out for proof).Was going to get married on the Cane river just like in Steel Magnolias but it rained on the day of my wedding, so we had to move it and get the deposit back. People are a lot more friendly and You guys and gals are passionate about football. Fair enough I hope. Maybe one day say 50 yrs from now you guys will accept the fact that Mizzou's here to stay...til then SEC, SEC
