Mike routinely had entire secondaries all over him

That's because Evans is slow and runs routes like a clown. Amari has more uncontested catches because, well, who the frick can cover him?

again, we had a stable of great receivers to throw to. Bama has one.

fair point.

I can't explain the bad games Mike had, but considering the fact that his best game, 280 vs Bama, was against the best secondary in the SEC I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Cooper is putting up the same stats as Marquise Lee, who finished 4th in heisman trophy voting in 2012 I believe.

Not gonna happen. Lee also had a 300 yard game.

He put those numbers up in your shite conference. Mariota is up there compiling stats against Oregon State and the other powerhouses of the Pac-36 (Arizona, ). Same with Gordon.

Amari Cooper should win the Heisman

I wish that were the case but honestly... Melvin Gordon deserves it hands down. Mariota is good, damn good but not Melvin Gordon good.

Alabama hasn't had a good secondary since 2011.

Cooper's great after the catch, but isn't good in traffic or with jump balls. That is why I would take Mike over Amari any day.

Not taking anything away from M.E. but please... go strangle yourself, sir.

He's more important to his team's success than any other player. But they've been wanting to give it to Mariota for quite some time.

If the Heisman was awarded to the biggest career underachiever I would understand them giving it to Mariota.

Will he start feigning injury when they lose to Arizona again? That's sort of Mariota's trademark.

Amari doesn't have to commit PI to get separation.

And after Eddie Jackson was assigned Evans in the 2nd half last year, Evans was pretty much shut down. The same Eddie Jackson that got torched against Auburn Saturday.

that may be, but you also had Haha and Landon supporting them, and statistically they were the best safety combo in the SEC.

Mike Evans catches came on

#1 - 32 yards vs John Fulton (CB)
#2 - 35 yards vs John Fulton (CB)
#3 - 34 yards vs Cyrus Jones (CB)
#4 - 34 yards vs Vinnie Sunseri (SS) & Dieon Belue (CB)
#5 - 17 yards vs John Fulton (CB)
#6 - 95 yards vs Cyrus Jones (CB)
#7 - 32 yards vs Cyrus Jones (CB)

I mean it doesn't really matter, but all those catches were against a totally inexperienced and just flat out bad Cyrus Jones and a terrible John Fulton. He's still a great player, but he wasn't beating other great players in that game.
