L'auberge may also be worth a look if it's not overly expensive.

Is the casino/hotel in Baton Rouge as nice as the one in Lake Charles?

If not, I'll just truck it back to L'Auberge in Lake Charles or perhaps Coushatta instead.

I heard L'auberge in BR bumped room rates to $400+ for LSU game weekends last year. I'd try elsewhere.

I've never been to the one in Lake Charles but I've heard the one here is nicer. But if it's really $400 a night for football weekends then definitely go elsewhere.

For a weekend, or per night? $150 a night at a resort for a major weekend isn't that unreasonable. There are hotels in Baton Rouge that would charge that much for this weekend, with nothing going on.

Anywhere in North Baton Rouge should be great. North of Airline Hwy.

If you want to be near campus, check out Gardere Ln. Lots of good places around there.

I lived on Gardere.

I once had a BBQ ruined by sporadic gunfire. True story.

I wouldn't pay those kind of rates unless I was staying at the Wynn or Bellagio in Las Vegas.

I'll definitely have to give L'auberge LC or the Coushatta Indians of Kinder a call and a chance at my money.

I'd rather potentially dump the money on the tables and slots than on an overpriced room.

It would be nice to know if it's going to be a day game or night game. That might change the math a little bit.

If you are the gambler you say you are, your room will be comped at Lauberge Baton Rouge....

If not, check into rooms in Port Allen or even Lafayette, an hour west of Baton Rouge

You ain't gonna spend a weekend at the Wynn or Bellagio for $400 on the room, that's for damn sure.

You'd be surprised, especially in the off-peak months like November or December. Better still if you can get the resort fees waived.

Also, the Bellagio's poker rate is very reasonable. Many casinos offer a poker rate. You pledge to play for a certain amount of time in the poker rooms (typically around 6 hours per day), and they will give you a discounted room for your troubles. If you were going to play poker for long periods of time anyway, it's a great deal.

$400 for the weekend at L'auberge BR doesn't sound like a bad deal at all, but I presume that the poster meant $400 per night. At that price, I'm going to find a better alternative.

NASTY ROOMS, BROKEN FURNITURE, ROACHES, NO FRIDGE OR MICROWAVE, ROOMS CLEANED ONLY ONCE A WEEK, YELLING AND FIGHTS, HEARD GUNSHOTS ONCE AND POLICE WERE ALWAYS HAVING TO COME THERE, SEEN THEM KICK DOORS IN, AFTER THAT I LEFT, ANYONE WHO WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE EXCELLENT RATING IS INVOLVED WITH DRUGS AND PROSTITUTION!!!

Solid recommendation. Seems legit.

Lots of hotels. Book early and its easy. Stay off college drive. It's always packed with visiting teams. If your lucky a downtown hotel may still be open, they're even better and closer.

Hahaha........that place is in a BAAAAAD area of Baton Rouge. You can pretty much drive in and pick a hooker.

I'd try and stay downtown tho, seriously. Plenty of stuff in walking distance to enjoy.
