What bars should I go to? Visiting fan friendly.

Where should I eat?

Does Tuscaloosa have any high end restaurants worth going to? Probably go have a nice meal on Friday night before going out on the town.

DePalma's to eat...

Hit the bars downtown near DePalma's. They are all nearby.

End it at The Houndstooth on The Strip.

I'm not much for the bar scene, but as for a nice restaurant you could try Chuck's Fish, The Cypress Inn, or Depalma's.

I thought this used to be just a North Alabama thing. I'm pretty sure it was made popular by Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur.

When I first moved to Tuscaloosa I had to buy it at home and bring it down here. Now it's in the stores.

I dated a girl from Pelham for awhile and she and her friends had no idea what the stuff was.

No worries, they're not required to wear outside of the Baton Rouge city limits.

OP, if you arrive Friday night, the strip would be the place to go for fun. It gets wild (and loud) of course and there will be A LOT of rival razz going on, but you'll have fun.

All the LSU folks need to go to Wintzell's in Northport just across the river. It is as close to the type of food you'll like as you'll find here. Gumbo is good and lots of seafood on the menu. Chuck's is a distant second.
