The guy that shot this is my neighbor. He very nearly lost his life tonight. He is very shaken and I feel confident saying this is his last storm chasing venture.

Is the warning still on? Or is Arky safe at least for now?

It's rolled out into SEMO now, Cape Girardeau etc.

Mizzou is on lockdown right now with a tornado warning.

Eastern OK and Western ARK are under a tornado watch until 6 am.

A thunderstorm is passing through now.

Clear for now, but they extended the tornado watch until 6AM. The local guys are saying the threat of strong tornados is mostly gone.

From the reports, pics, accounts, etc I've come across tonight, I can only imagine how bad the reality is going to be tomorrow once daylight hits.

Mayflower interstate crossing

I don't know if this has been posted, but it can explain how people got caught up in it.

Seriously, you're driving down the interstate at night, and all of a sudden you're in it. I don't really know if there's anything you can do that's a really good option.

I have several friends in that area; I pray they are OK.

Thanks for the updates guys. Arky I hope the worst is over for you and that tomorrow isn't as bad as we all fear it will be. I know I've said it before this just breaks my heart on so many levels.

SEMO/Mizzou stay safe - hopefully no major damage occurs and y'all get lucky.

I can't believe how long we're supposed to have this weather. Severe storms and tornado threats from Sunday all the way into Tues and possibly Wednesday is an outrageous amount of time to me made even more crazy by the number of states under threat. 15! This has got to be a record and not in a good way.

My brother almost did going back to Conway from SEARK. He had to stop on I-40 to let it cross. After it went by, he & others got out of their cars & heard people screaming others' names, calling out to them. They called 911 & were told to stay away because of the dangers from downed power lines, etc. He said it was the most awful surreal experience he's ever had.

Eta - He was just south of Mayflower.

Terrible. Glad he's OK, though. I'm still waiting to hear from friends there.

Thoughts and prayers to all those effected. I'm praying for my home town in southeast Missouri as well.

It sounds like to me he said "Why did they get ON the road[knowing the weather situation]. They know better."
