I could envision Saban chewing someone’s arse out on a visit because someone ate all the cashews out of the mixed nuts.
But he helped and taught players more than football so coupled with winning he was a huge draw for players and their families.

Doesn't really matter where the head coach is from, just matters what kind of staff he puts together.
If DeBoer brings a majority of his Washington staff, look out.
At best, those guys just pulled average classes for Washington.

Yea the whole announcement was like a funeral for the Saban era. It was strange. I’ve watched plenty of coaching announcements and this one was strange. Lots of blank stares and no energy.

You act like this is one sided, both sides are being hypocritical which makes it even funnier. I don’t understand how deBoer is listed above Kelly, who is now the current leader with most wins.
Heck maybe he’s the new guy, but we all thought Harsin, Cristobal, Napier, Tom Herman and plenty of other coaches that were put out there as the next big thing. None of them played out.
Next season will be interesting because most teams have a tough schedule. Saban left the cupboard full so he should be able to get at least 8 wins just on talent alone.

Saban was the GOAT in recruiting and he has no charisma (at least in comparison to Bear Bryant). I was actually super encouraged listening to DeBoer's presser today. He seems like a touch-feely version of Saban.
