Who cares what OU did? Do they play in the SEC? This is about navigating a conference schedule that contains 4 of the best front 7s in the conference. They play 3 of them in a 4 week stretch with the 4th team being UGA.
Good luck. I don't think they are going to get through it with fewer than 2 losses.

UT ran 588 offensive plays during conference play with 62 TFLs. If you think averaging 11% of your plays going for loss isn't going to be an issue, so be it.

I think Tennessee definitely has the talent on paper to compete. However, the question, remaining from last year, is can they close out games? Last year, they lost so many big games late in the 4th quarter.
I picked Tennessee to finish 2nd in the East behind Florida, but to have a 10 win season.

I think it would be very hard for us to win 10 wins and not win the east. Do you think Florida wins against Georgia as well? Even if Florida does win against us, I see them at best a 9 win team. I think they have too many questions on offense. Now if we 9 or fewer games, then I see them having a chance.

UT has gotten hype probably going on 3-4 seasons now to at the least, whether it's to win the East, or even just finally beat UF. As a UF fan, I pay attention more to the predictions you guys will beat UF. I mean, there's a reason nearly everyone talks about UT and UGA being preseason champions.

I think he'll do better than that, honestly. How much better is the question -- I think he can lose to UF and still keep his job, personally. As long he gets to 9 wins, I think his job will be safe for at least 1 more season.
Anything under 9 wins for Butch and I have to believe he may be done up there.

Here's the idiot who runs away when you ask him to provide evidence of UT getting preseason hype the past few years. O wait, he found a bleacher report article that said we were going to win the east in 2014 so that means we were OVERRATED.
Go to the Annual prediction thread, check Vol fan predictions for the past 3 years and get back to me.

Tennessee hasn't been picked to win the east since 2005 and we finished 2nd last year which is exactly what the media picked us. The over hype stuff is bullshite and out of the last eleven years we've played Florida we've only been favored in three (2005, 2012, 2015).

I admittedly in my post put that I spent like 3 minutes looking. Just go look back at your own boards across the net, or even this board for proof of the hype. It happens every season and everyone talks about every season -- denying it only makes you look even more delusional. It's common knowledge at this point. This is all basically first page of Google, I'm sure there's more -- I'm not even going to attempt going through messageboard posts because then it will get really embarrassing.
