1. How often is 'Bama in Dime/Dollar?
2. How much did 'Bama run Dime or Dollar against Ole Miss?

Thanks in advance.

Big mistake to ask actual football questions on the rant. Very few here know actual football, so you're sure to get almost entirely troll responses and downvotes.

Just watch the game with your boy toy and stop acting like you know what's going on out there.

It's all about personnel groupings. The defense matches up with what the offense puts out there. So, to answer your question, Bama will be in dime as much as A&M is in 4 and 5 WR sets.

Alabama plays 3 freshman beast in Dime Ronnie Harrison, Minkah Fitzpatrick , Marlon Humphrey. Nobody has sustained scoring drives against Alabama. You have to hope they turn it over for a short field or have some sort of miracle, helmet bouncing play. If Jake plays a clean game Alabama is 2 scores better than everyone, but Bama's offensive line is shaky and Jake will throw it to the other team.

A&M won't score much, but they can ugly the game up if they can get consistent pressure on Jake.

Why would bama go Dime when LB and DL is their strength?

You don't want a LB on a slot receiver during a 5 wide set

1, in some cases coaches are comfortable with it depending on down and distance and the called coverage.

2, why would you use a 5 wide set as anything more than a wrinkle. In which case, you can still be comfortabel defending in Nickel packages.

Plus in a 2 safety high dime set agaisnt 5 wide you will almost always have a LB covering a slot unless you man up one of your safeties and spy your LB.

aggy uses a lot of 5 wide, and it's not a wrinkle. their offense is designed to force and exploit mismatches on the slot with a LB and outside receivers (such as when a safety forces to the hash when playing cover 1 or 4). and running the HUNH substitutions into nickel and dime to match offensive personnel won't happen all that much.

witness the last touchdown drive in regulation by aggy in the Arkansas game when a LB was forced to man up on Josh Reynolds and was beat like a rented mule on the play.

it's a legit question by OP.

We tend to adjust our defense and personnel depending on who we are playing. And mainly on the situation... down and distance, etc.

Hence why we, and most other teams have problems with hurry up offenses. We can't always sub to get the personnel on the field to play what we want.

So your question shouldn't be how much does Bama run this or that type of defense... it should be how often is Bama's D effective when they can't get their best players in to run the type of defense they want to.

I happen to think the only chance anyone has to run on Bama is to spread you out, force you into dime, and then, maybe, you'll be able to run with a couple of the front 7 on the sideline.

Bama is still pretty stout up front even in Dime. They really have about 9 or 10 guys on the defensive line that can all get it done with little drop off. Then Ruben Foster comes in along with Ronnie Harrison and they are both big hitters. Without turnovers or some type of 50 yard play points will be near impossible to come by against Bama.

i wish when he's getting pressure he would just tuck and run. Hes really a good runner, and even if he doesn't break a big play, is better than lobbing a duck into the middle of the field for am easy pick. And if he gets hurt, we have 3 more guys are relatively ready to play

Dollar is a "3-2-6" look. As LSU and TENN fans we know this as the Mustang package.

LSU and UT should also be familiar with the infamous 5-3-5 defense.
