He is on the JSU BOT.

Also, my wife and I had four kids at the stadium on Saturday, and when that song/cheer is as clear as it was at that game, it is difficult to justify. I shouldn't be put in that position at an Alabama game. Everything else, the energy, the music, the volume, the bands, was great. I know, old as frick, fogey, etc., etc., etc.

I think the student section should simply threaten to learn the words to the C-Murder song they play on 3rd downs and belt that out until we get Dixieland Delight back.

It all comes down to dollars people. Students pay what 20 bucks a ticket, smuggle in their own whiskey, leave early, act like idiots may buy a coke so maybe 25 bucks a pop max.

A guy brings his family, wife and two kids cost what 1000 bucks in tickets, buys lots of food and drinks souvenirs for the kids, pay TAF or REC ticket fee plus has to give school 2000 a year for privilege of buying tickets, stays at hotel eats out so it cost him 2000 to go to a game.

$ 2000 is greater than 25.

Once again, the crucial point is being overlooked here. Regardless of decency, free speech, country music, or fanhood, the important message is simple:

frick auburn.

This is almost as bad as when Bib Bockrath switched to concession contract from Coke to Pepsi.

How long did that last? I remember being at BDS in 2002 and being shocked that Pepsi was the drink of choice.

I'm surprised Bear didn't strike him dead with a lightning bolt.

The team and the school are for the students, not you. Plus they are paying tuition that keeps that school running, you arent

This is incredibly myopic, and inaccurate.

They could chant it during the national anthem, and it'd be hard to be mad at the students.

This is dumb.

Sorry, 'Bama fans.

I never dreamed I would say that and mean it.

In a thread full of dumb statements, you've bested them all.

Brother Alabama is not for me don't worry. Now my son if he doesn't get his grades up, it may be for him. (LOL)

I was a rebel flag waving drunk idiot in my day, and was kicked out of better stadiums than Denny Bryant, and even banned for a while from Tiger Stadium, but even then we knew better than to cuss around kids. You guys know that too man.

I am sure anybody not taking children to the game will "love it" .....I guess it boils down to what kind of atmosphere is to be encouraged by the administration. I think they have made their decision and I applaud them for it.

Is $25,000 > $2,000?

Yeah I used to make that same argument about alcohol at the grove. Which is illegal under state law btw. Why can they have alcohol and we are banned at frat row. But then you are really paying the 25K to go to school are you? I assume alumni Mom & Dad are. I hope not anyway.
