Who from UGA is underestimating Milroe???? I know yall would want this to be true but I will gurantee you you can't provide a link to anyone from UGA who is underestimating Milroe or even mentioning Milroe. UGA has a game against Tennessee this week and one against GT next week. Unless there is a Milroe on UTs roster I will guarantee you no one from UGA is understimating Milroe.

Why do you refer to yourself in the 3rd person all the time?

Also, keep Bama out of your mouth, paw paw.

Why do you think this is? Your secondary is loaded. Is it the scheme being run leaving the middle vulnerable or what do you think?

The corners are really solid but MLBs and safeties can’t cover grandma.

Last year? Yes.

Where is Bama weak up the middle in 2023? Who does UGA target?

RB playing QB

This was true for the first few weeks of the season but its not accurate anymore.

Even with the early struggles he’s top 5 in the nation among P5 guys in ESPN QBR on the year and since halftime of the Tennessee game when they opened up the run portion of the playbook he’s only behind Jayden Daniels from a QBR standpoint.

SummerOfGeorge posted some numbers yesterday pointing out that since halftime of Tennessee Bama has the highest PPD offense in the country adjusted for opponent.

He’s certainly not a finished product as a passer and UGA will be by far his toughest test all year, but even as someone who doubted he was ready to play winning football this year there’s no statistical argument he isn’t one of the top QBs in the nation at this point.

Bama has great WRs and TEs but a RB playing QB. Milroe will only throw the ball when a receiver is clearly open and he still struggles with reading defenses and intermediate passing. Milroe at QB is why I fear some of the skill talent we have will transfer.

Did you stop watching Bama games when you got banned from the Bama board? Because you clearly haven't watched Milroe or this team the past few weeks.

Most Ga fans posting here act like Tenn is just a door mat, and Alabama’s Milroe can easily be contained. Both of those reactions are idiotic. Just pushing back at what Ga fans are posting.

Lawson at MLB is outstanding in coverage, but was out last week. Are you thinking of Marshall (who UGA fans know) because he has limitations in pass coverage but isn’t a full time guy when Lawson is available.

As far as safety goes, Moore and Downs were two of the highest rated players in the country last week according to PFF and Key has been very solid so I’m not seeing the issues there.

Last year safety was weak in pass coverage outside of Battle because Moore was coming off an injury and Hellams was a run support guy, but I don’t see the issues this year.

Does Saban’s scheme sometimes allow passes downfield to the middle (like Kirby’s)? Yes.

Will Bowers make plays against Bama? Absolutely, he’s Brock Bowers and no one in CFB can handle him.

But I don’t see glaring issues up the middle for 2023 Bama especially with Lawson on the field.

Scared me to death when Kentucky hit him on the thigh last week. I think that will be the biggest challenge….keeping Milroe healthy while he’s running more often.

I always thought Marshall's best strength was pass coverage.
He is a linebacker. So the bar is adjusted accordingly (don't expect him to play like a safety).
But he has good athleticism, instincts, and takes great jumps into lanes. Better than most other linebackers in college football.

It is the other stuff where he is average.

I’d argue he has incredible field awareness so he’s usually a step ahead of most players because he sees the field well but from a speed and athleticism standpoint I don’t think he is quite where he once was due to injury and has lost a step or two in coverage.

Not to say he’s bad, but in terms of pass coverage I don’t see him as elite.

I was mostly trying to figure out what the other poster was talking about as far as being weak up the middle and he was all I could come up with as far as pass coverage liabilities other than Kristian Story who is a reserve guy who has seen time due to injuries recently.

I never said elite.
I said it was his best trait.
I dont think anyone at UGA thought he was elite at anything.

I grade it as a +
He is consistently better than the average linebacker in coverage.
With enough reps, you will see plays made on the ball and pass completions where he was in phase and did everything as well as a linebacker can do.

He may have been our best coverage linebacker in 2022. His inability to blitz kept him off the field, though.

Ga’s grossly underestimating Milroe

From what I've seen here people are grossly underestimating GA's ability to contain, as if we gave up 100 yds each to Brady Cook & Jaxson Dart.

All I hear is how Milroe is going to run all over us, how he's a freight train, like we're the LSU defense. I'm sure he'll have some nice plays, but compared to CJ Stroud and the OSU receivers last year he isn't scary. Pump the brakes just a bit

Maybe, just maybe Steel
Can plan a little better than Golding ever did. I haven't seen Any team slow down
Bowers yet but didn't see the Missouri game.
