What the frick do you think???? Lots of Bama fans actually respected Lutz. Dude played the game the way it was meant to be played. We don't do shite like that. Now... a tea-bagging ... well...

Lutz only has himself to blame for his death

I heard they were really chanting luck is dead. Still pretty funny considering all the luck bammer has received under Saban themselves

Based upon the posts of the Alabama fans in the SEC Rant, I would say this rumor is true.

But, since none of the Alabama SEC Rant posters ever go to the games, I would have to say the rumor is false

I was sitting in the lower level opposite the student section and I never heard any cheer about luck or Lutz. And as someone said early, I've never once heard an Alabama person refer to Lutzenkirken as Lutzy. Ever.

This is the most perfect example of Auburn being Auburn (along with the UGA letter). Get whipped by a rival, so go and make up story to feel good about the supposed "moral high ground". GTFOH.

I'm going to Atlanta Saturday. Sweeping generalization disproven.

Literally everyone has a smartphone today and most people have them out constantly. If this did happen, I would think that someone would have recorded it. Everything is recorded today.

"Luck is dead" has to be the lamest chant ever.

Making up a story to make it sound like your rival was laughing at a kid dying > chanting luck is dead

I was in the east upper. The only chant I heard was during the Dixieland Delight 4th qtr thingy. There was a chant coming from the students and it sounded like f--- Auburn. It lasted about 10 seconds and wasn't enough people chanting to be perfectly clear but that is what I thought I heard which to me is bad enough. I never heard anything that resembled Lutz or Lutzie or whatever. My take is probably like the rolling of Toomers when Bryant died. Was it a student-wide movement to roll toomers? No but there were prolly a couple idiots that did throw a roll over a tree. I figure there were a couple a-holes that may have chanted something about Lutz. Classless people abound in all walks and all areas. Unfortunately.

The random aspect of this makes me think it'd be extremely unlikely to be just made up by an Auburn fan. The rumor was all over Twitter while Auburn was still in the lead. I see no reason for anyone to even make it up.

If I was an Auburn fan and/or a friend or family of Lutz, I'd actually be a little pissed off that some Auburn fans are using Lutzenkirchen's death to try and "score points" in the Alabama-Auburn fan rivalry. It's pretty disrespectful.

No, I was there then and that didn't happen either. FWIW, I've talked to 4 different people that went to the game and none of them heard this chant.
