I'm not betting on that. After winning the Heisman, Ingram called his OL legendary. I don't see this year's being called anything like that.

Just remember the '08 line lost 3 starters (including All-SEC Antoine Caldwell and All-American Andre Smith) and the two who returned, as well as the back-ups to the departed players, went on to be a part of that legendary '09 offensive line.

We return an All-SEC caliber RG in Anthony Steen and a preseason All-American LT in Cyrus Kouandjio.

Some things are just more likely than others.

Raining inside the dome during the game for example. I'd say that is about as likely.

Scott Loeffler is the OC ...point being he could be the first OC to get shut out against the same while coaching for two different schools. Read the reports coming out of Blacksburg. Their offense can't even execute against their defense in scrimmages.

I think Alabama wins easily, but I don't think they cover the spread. I'm thinking something along the lines of 31-13.

Consider this to be almost like a preseason scrimmage, one that Alabama wins handily. At some point in the 3rd, Beamer will find himself down something like 24-3, and will work on salvaging his team for the season ahead: VT will try to run against Bama's pass rush. That will take the heat off the team, and a 5-6 minute drive for a FG will restore the team's confidence against future opponents. Saban, in turn, will go to the run too. It will run the clock out in a win, it won't embarrass Beamer unnecessarily, and each team will get out of the game with their goals intact- Bama will be undefeated with a convincing win, and VT will be pretty healthy and not coming off a 30 pt loss.

I am normally a nervous wreck before games and I'm not too concerned which is odd but that said if they line up and we don't put them away early anything could happen.

great things have been happening to me this week outside of football, perhaps it carries over. That little queer AJ doesn't turn the ball over, VT needs turnovers. fumblefest2k13 lets go

I honestly expected to find VT ranked 10th, because I feel like they start and end around there every year. They aren't even ranked?

Of course. I'm one who gets nervous before every game. I don't think we lose, but I'm still not that confident about it.

I really don't see any feasible reason to not be confident, unless you just suffer from self-esteem issues. I haven't seen a mismatch like this in a "marquee" matchup in a long time.

Yes, I do believe Bama will win handily but anything can happen.

More than anything I feel bad for VT with all the injuries they've had to endure before the first week of the season. Just sad

I'd actually be surprised if they go much over the spread. Not because they can't -- they'll probably be able to name the score by the 3rd quarter -- but because Saban respects Beamer as a coach in the same way he respected Paterno as a coach (no idea if he still does with the revelations since then.) Saban isn't one to run up the score anyway, and he's even less likely to do it with a coach he respects.
