Thread title is completely misleading.

Kind of a weird message for somebody that is likely to return. Right?

But don't kid yourself if you think these players can wait to see if they're drafted before they can make the easy decision to go back to school. There is still a deadline after the combine where the players have to make a decision

I wasn't sure exactly how it worked. It's been a while since I've really followed the nba draft. Last time Auburn had an NBA player was Marquis Daniels off the 2003 team, and I don't even know when the last time we had one get drafted was. I think maybe there was one more draft pick after Chris Porter?

I don't think so. He even says "test the waters" and "without signing an agent." All it takes is for one team to fall in love with him and give him a first round grade though.

He has a long way to go to be a first round pick imo.

Rules have changed a bit recently. He has until 10 days after the combine( May 25th) to make a decision. That gives him time to do the combine plus a few private workouts for NBA teams. Wish the CFB athletes could get this type of information before they declare.

He'll come back but if je dpesnt that pits a huge damper on expectations next year for Bama.

You got that right! That kid's getting ready to get his feelings hurt.

If Braxton Key is a 1st round draft choice, my arse is a soda fountain!

I agree but he does have the natural gifts and size to be a decent pro. He has to become WAY more polished with his ball handling and control on the offensive end though. He turns the ball over way too much to get drafted at this point.

I agree with your assessment completely. You can throw in the fact that he's got a lazy streak, also. If he dedicates himself totally to improving his game and gets his attitude right over the next year, then maybe he can seriously consider it....maybe.

, if they don't get drafted it doesn't affect their eligibility and they can return to school.

Not really accurate. They have to take their name out of the draft before it happens. If they stay declared, they can't come back.
