Great D in 92, but mediocre at best O.

Well, y'all did have one of the most exciting players in CFB history on that O. And, no, I don't mean Monochrome Barker. (I like Jay, actually. But he's not exactly colorful.)

Palmer was used as a decoy for much of that season. He, like many WRs before and after him, suffered from a sophomore slump in '92. He was also suspended until the Louisiana Tech game for a DUI he had incurred over the summer.

Yeah, not being an actual Bama fan -- though I do like Bama -- means I'm going to get details wrong. But I'll be damned if Palmer wasn't one of the most fun players to watch when he was on-point.

if they go 15-0, they might be considered up there with the best if they keep blowing teams out like they did Saturday. However, they haven't beaten a team that has less than 3 losses at this point. That's not their fault, bit it factors in.

1995 Nebraska was the best I've ever seen. They went undefeated, averaged 53 ppg, beat their opponents by an average margin of 39 ppg and the closest anyone came was 14 points. They played four teams that ended up ranked in the top 10 and they averaged 49 ppg against them and won by an average of 30 points. They topped off the season by beating an undefeated, dominating and offensive record-breaking Florida team 62-24. I never thought I would see a Spurrier team get beaten like that during his reign there. 1995 Nebraska was a monster.

OP said this Bama could go down as the greatest team in SEC football history not CFB history.

I didn't notice that. I'm used to Bama fans aiming bigger. But seriously, if they go 15-0, they'd obviously be considered one of the best ever in SEC history. They likely won't have a win though against an SEC team with less than three losses. In 2011, the SEC West had five bowl teams and 3 finished in the top 5.

I think we have put this off long enough. We as a conference need to sit down and ask whether the best SEC is top-heavy, like 2011, or showing a lot of parity, like this year. We can't keep changing the goalposts to fit the narrative.

The east is a dumpster fire.. LSU is decent.. Alabama is good/very good. No good QBs in the conference.

I think we can safely say the SEC is a few steps back from the 2010-2013 years

Don't disagree. But parity does count for something. Most of the better teams aren't losing to cellar dwellers. Well, Auburn, but UGA is a schizophrenic freak show this year.

1961 Bama. They gave up 32 points in 11 games. They went the last seven games without giving up a TD. Think about that. Averaged giving up 70 yards passing and 50 yards rushing per game.

Some of the best players in the nation didn't even get to play on SEC teams back then.

Who knows. Florida A&M, Southern, or Jackson State might have been the best team that year.

hmm. Even since the 1940's, southern teams ruled the black college ranks. It's no wonder, then, that southern teams still win more than its share of national titles.

That is just so fricking clever...did you think of that all by yourself or did you copy your equally clever brethren from the 1st page?

They are 10-0, SEC West champs, and are currently #1 in the conference in these major categories:

- Total Offense
- Scoring Offense
- Total Defense
- Scoring Defense

So you are saying this team has more than the average Bama NFL Draft Busts they usually have...
