Mark my words. This is going to be a death penalty case. Bo Davis went to LSU and we never fired him. Alabama fired him. LSU gets the death penalty. Book it.

It almost has to be paying players if he was immediately fired. As long as Bama can plausibly claim they fired him AS SOON AS THEY FOUND OUT, they should escape with a two-three scholarship reduction and maybe some recruiting limitations. If the player/players in question were contributors (and got paid) that could make it marginally worse. And of course if Bama is smart they will penalize themselves, plead ignorance, and the NCAA will reward them accordingly with the aforementioned slap on the wrist.

I have to admit as an Aubie I am enjoying us not being the center of attention on this kind of NCAA shite for once.

What did Bo Davis do to get processed?

Yeah, it's already been established that it was a '16 recruit that never signed with Bama.

Nothing will happen to Alabama but something will happen to Davis if he wants to continue a career in the NCAA.
He doesn't have to talk to the NCAA if he isn't an employee of a NCAA member school.

So his career is effectively over in the NCAA. Which is the punishment here.

Rumor I've heard (not sure if true or not) was that it involved an out of state 2016 recruit that Alabama missed out on. Don't know exactly what but it was apparently bad enough to result in CBD's dismissal.

Whats worrisome about this is how quickly he got axed. No reporting violations or anything, just distance as soon as possible. That means whatever he did was pretty damn bad I would think.

I'm not saying it's death penalty or anything, but he definitely committed some type of major infraction. Now we play the waiting game to learn what actually happened.

As pavloc said, this is really nice being on the other side for a change. I'm not too sure what I should be doing with my hands though.

I think all but those wearing tidefans level crimson-colored glasses agree. The way his arse got immediately kicked to the curb screams that he went way out of bounds.

Best case is that the rumors are right and it involves a kid that didn't even sign with Bama.

Agreed. Unfortunately, even if it is with someone that didn't sign, it opens up an avenue to look into players that did sign for whatever the infraction is. All speculation at this point regardless.

Absolutely. Nobody wants the camel's nose under the tent.

Sure, but may as well speculate. At least this and Tunsil are sparing us a few days of UT and Arky fans vying for another off season title.

Florida dropped Joker for similar reasons. Did Florida get hit with any penalties, or did the action to remove the employee satisfy NCAA concern?

I would imagine Bama is in similar situation. If penalties came to florida (even minor), then Bama can expect similar. If no penalties, then Bama can expect similar.

Good point. The bigger concern is the simple fact that this draws unwanted attention from the NCAA. Given the NCAA's recent history with numerous schools of seemingly looking the other way and almost requiring video proof of violations occurring before anything is done makes me much less concerned about the situation. The trend in recent years in even serious NCAA investigations seems to produce tons of smoke but very little in solid violations or penalties.

Honestly, if one SEC program has gotten away with something, I am sure a lot of SEC teams could be drawn in.

Coaches are often hired from one SEC program to another.

I just want to get back to seeing games on the field tbh.

Well, that all depends on what it is he actually did. Joker's violation was the bump rule iirc with photo evidence.
