Well what I noticed is that bastard Wallace got his plaque in 2004........the students got theirs in 2010.

Inconsistencies.........

Hell Vivian Malone didn’t even live to see the honor and James Hood barely did.

You can't tell the difference between a historical marker and something honoring someone?

And Lucy is still alive.

Eh, the plaque doesn't appear to be honoring the man, it appears to be honoring the event, which was a major moment in the Civil Rights Movement.

Just for the record (not to you specifically) George Wallace did find some redemption as he grew older. Apparently being paralyzed by a bullet in your spine gives you some perspective, because he showed what I think was genuine remorse in his later years for his segregationist and racist behavior. A man that can admit he was so very wrong about something like this can't be all bad.

I can tell the difference lol.

What I’m saying is that those students probably should have been honored by I don’t know, 1990 or so. The University had been integrated for a couple of decades by then.

Malone was given an honorary PhD in 2000.

The university named an endowed fellowship in Lucy's honor in 1992 and installed a portrait of her in the student union.

As a semi-frequent visitor to both, Alabama's Campus >>> Auburn's.

It’s beyond mediocre.

A bit trashy for a State-Owned School.

Very unforgettable.

Maybe carry your illiterate arse to that forgettable campus in Lee County and register for English 1100.

Alabama Campus vs. Auburn Campus
Auburn.

Tuscaloosa isn't even trying at this point.

You've lost your mind. Half the buildings on Auburn's campus look like they were designed by some anonymous government architect in 1968. The *GROUNDS* at Auburn look great. Many of the *BUILDINGS* look like crap.

But, Auburn is not alone. I have had the pleasure to do a reasonable amount of traveling in my life and I enjoy visiting college campuses when not pressed for time. The "look" of great grounds/generic buildings is often a look you will see at land grant institutions. Perhaps there is some government influence at work, maybe it's random. I have no idea. But I do know that if you go to various land grand universities, you'll see the same cookie cutter buildings from the 1960s.

Again, the grounds at Auburn are comparable to any college anywhere. The buildings and overall campus? Not so much. Put the two together and I see no logical way anyone could claim Auburn is head and shoulders above Alabama. It simply is not so.

It's not on campus.

This. Evergreen cemetery is due south of Bryant-Denny Stadium - across Paul Bryant Drive. It is due west of Tutwiler Hall, across 10th Avenue. In any case, Evergreen Cemetery is not owned by the University of Alabama and it is not within the campus boundary; it is owned by the city of Tuscaloosa.

I visited Auburn's campus once.

It might have looked nice? The overwhelming smell of cow made it hard to appreciate anything about it.
