I think Bammer is twice as good right now than early in the season. They got something brewing over there. The west is going to be extremely tough soon.

They have a lot to build on. Any idea how well they did last recruiting class?

I always found it funny when looking at their board there's never any threads (outside of the stickies) made about any sport other than football.

a quick google search shows that they weren't top 25 in 2015, and weren't top 40 in 2014. MSU was top 10 both years, btw. Ole Miss was #19 in 2015, #12 in 2014, for what its worth.

Seriously? The stickied basketball threads on the Alabama board are arguably the 2nd most active in the league behind Kentucky and the baseball and softball stickied threads are active as well.

As for the OP, the last recruiting class was solid but nothing spectacular by SEC standards. Just need more consistent offense to go with the solid pitching.

Should be better than it is. Not sure how much longer Gaspard will be there.

I've seen softball game threads on TR longer. And obviously baseball.

Bama had a pretty good baseball program for a long time. I guess like any team you eventually go through bad spells for a while. I really like what they are doing over there. I think recruiting will pick up.

The Sec as I know it has typically been Florida and LSU and MSU for a long time. Then Vandy hired a great coach as did South Carolina to turn those programs around. Arkansas too although they are very down this year. I think Ole Miss made a great hire hire in Bianco and he's been steady. Just one CWS under his watch and that was recent but they've been steady long enough where recruiting has picked up.

The west could be frightening in several years. Gonna beat up on each other a lot.

You can't argue with any of that. I only know of LSU, MSU, USC, UF, OM, Vandy, and Arkansas, being SEC elite, but do know Bama was great in the 90's.
You have those 8 teams, plus UGA made the Finals not long ago, and were also the first SEC team to win the CWS.
Just like football, winning the SEC, is a big accomplishment.

Been good off and on throught the years. Nothing but mediocrity for a long time.

Still second to LSU all time in regular season championships and tournament championships. Not a single CWS title to show for it, though. Can't be elite until you can win it all.

That's something to be proud of. May not have the CWS Championship, but winning the SEC is still a great accomplishment.

Ok gotta go to bed. Been up working on a project but I just did a quick research and it will shock you.

LSU has 16 conference titles.
Alabama, yes Bama has 14
Florida has 13 conf titles
Miss State has 10.

Those are your all-time top four. I knew Bama used to have a good program but who would have thought they are 2nd all-time? Wow!

Goodnight, long day tomorrow.

I knew Bama was up there, just assumed MSU was second in SEC titles, since y'all are a BIG reason baseball is so big here.

meh, we're where we are historically. Solid team, can win a few we're not supposed to and drop the same amount. Might make a regional but not much more. Same ole Bama program.

LSU basically ruined the program back on the last game of the 1997 season. They were soooooo close but that took the heart out of them and they never been the same.

Except they went back to the CWS in 1999.

North Carolina ruined the program in the 2006 super regional.

Meh, we had a good weekend swinging the bats against a bad Arkansas team. We'll revert back to losing 2/3 this weekend against South Carolina, all of them in excruciating 3-2 fashion.

You realize all the talk about the non-football sports are in the stickies, right?

Softball, basketball and baseball threads probably average 1-2 pages a day depending on sport actual activity, more during important parts of the season.

Hell, the basketball thread has probably jumped 30 pages since the season ended solely on talk of transfers and recruiting.

Don't be an idiot.
