No, I don't mean that us playing each other makes either program relevant in the national spotlight. It makes the sport relevant to people of this state.

You're right. I said that wrong.
My point was that basketball needs to become relevant for fans in this state again. One way is for the programs to actually become relevant nationally and not bust every year trying to get into the NCAAs. There's really no guarantee there.
Another way is for the state teams to play each other regularly. It makes local fans more excited to see their team play another in-state team than it does playing Western Carolina or Towson. There's just no point not to do it.
