But your athletic graduation rate stinks. Bama is lookiing pretty good as far as graduating their athletes.
"Vanderbilt and Alabama shared the best SEC rating at 85. UK was at 31."
Basketball graduation rates for SEC
"Football's GSR of 52 percent tied with Auburn for last in a survey of student-athletes entering school between 1999-2002."
Footall graduation rates for SEC
SEC Graduation rates
So, does athletic departments that doesn't graduate a good portion of their athletes fail?

Im not a business school grad.... College of Architecture, Design, Construction for me (although I'm not sure where it ranks nationally).
Both the Alabama and Auburn are consistently in the top 30 or 40 public Universities in the nation (not bad for a state with a population that ranks around 30)... each with their strong suits.

When Bama is on probation, Auburn has had the better overall athletic department.... I'm not even sure that's debatable.

I can't wait until we kick your asses next year. I'll have to let the whooping that Florida puts on you in the SECCG hold me over until then.
Hell, maybe Auburn will rise up this time around. You guys' pissy attitudes wouldn't be so galling if the media weren't playing your game. Florida and Alabama do not have a lock on the SEC.
Just wait a little while.

I remember saying this exact statement about Bama most of the decade.

Alabama continually has one of the top ranked business schools. The marketing and accounting programs are top 30 in the country. The law school is in the top 20 among public universities.
You aren't doing a very good job promoting Bama's programs.
Our law school is top 10 among public institutions, top 30 among all law schools.
Accounting is top 20.

No. I simply said we have better academics and a better athletic department.... those two independent sources appear to back up my claims.
It's funny how you cited a winning record in a string of recent Iron Bowls but mentioned ONLY this year's USNWR school rankings. Why not look at the histories of those, too? Oh, I know why: because Alabama has been ranked ahead of Auburn in their rankings much more often than not.
You can at least try and maintain some semblance of objectivity.

I graduated from Alabama with a BS and MS in Civil Engineering, so I don't keep up religously with other programs.
It's according to what ranking you go by. The US News and World Report actually had Alabama 30th among public universities.

I pulled the Accounting ranking straight off of UA's website.

That's 30th among all schools. Yale is #1. I believe UVa is the #1 public law school.

RIGHT NOW (11/20/2009), Auburn has the better overall athletic department and better academic ranking (according to the sources sited earlier).

About this Mississippi State - Alabama "rivalry". Last semester I was taking Geography 101 so I could get my science requirement out of the way for my degree and our professor starts off with his opening lecture telling us a little bit about himself. When he mentioned that he had taught several years at Mississippi State before coming to Alabama he paused for a moment expecting us to boo him. He waited a second, said, "Anyone?" and then shrugged it off by saying, "They hate your guts over there and ya'll could care less." It was pretty funny.
