There's a big difference between building a program (ala LSU and Alabama) vs. scooping up Cam Newton one year and completing a few hail mary plays another year.

Yet which team has more SEC titles (you know ones you actually have to win on the field) than both?

The only thing that really seperates us is one is a media darling and the other isn't.

On the field AU has won as much or more than bama by almost any measure (total wins, SEC wins, head to head wins, conference titles etc...) We could easily have national championships in 83 and 04 which were much more title worthy seasons than bama in 11 or 12 and were 13 seconds away from another this year.

Doesn't even count going undefeated in 93.

Yea but we were like 1 minute and 12 seconds, from losing all our games, or something like that.

LOL......how is your 83 and 04 season more worthy? You lost to Texas at home in 83 and didn't even make it to the title game in 04...and even if you had, you still had play USC. Bama at least got into the games and beatdown LSU and ND.

So close and yet so far....

Face it, your Glory Days haven't even been as good as Bama's leaner times. Bama won 8-10 in the 60s, and 9 times in a row during the 70s. 19-4 in over 2 decades. at 6 in a row. Since then? Bama with 4x as many National Titles. Facts and stuff.

Read the comment I responded to again. Try to let it sink in to your redneck brain. Then try again.

Umm, well in 83 we at least won our own conference and played one of the most difficult schedules in college football history.

In 2004 we were undefeated.

Pretty simple really.

I like how yall chastise Auburns season as being close on their victories, yet the opposite cant be claimed by auburn fans.

Since aubies like their facts, here is one. Auburn is on their third head coach since Saban arrived at Bama. What does that tell you?

Here is another, in the best period in your history you are 4-3 against Auburn with the same number of SEC titles.

What does that tell you?

How many coaches has bama had since the turn of the century? Since Bear?

I always find it amusing that both sides pull random lengths of time or start dates to justify whatever point they're making.

This is how I look at it:

The current head coaches of both schools got there this year (Gus). In that time frame, yes, we lost to Auburn, in a drag out, knuckle duster kind of battle that ends up being one of those "games of lore". Like Punt Bama Punt, Cam Back, The Kick, and The Drive - all games that we pretty much know instantly the person utters 2-3 words.

So, yeah, I hate Auburn. Despise 'em. But do I think any other rivalry comes close?

Heck no. It's the greatest rivalry in sports, up there with Red Sox / Yankees, Frazier / Ali, and Packers / Bears.

It's not lopsided, it's not one school that wins everything and another that wins nothing, it's tradition demonstrates a level of past contempt that borders on the psychotic.

I like how you regurgitate the LSU talking points. Was the arse kicking we laid on LSU and Notre Dame luck? We deserved to be in those games as much as anyone else in the country that year.

Sorry but when you are America's Team with the rock star coach, you get the breaks. Nobody but Auburn fans loves Auburn.

Did those arse kickings get you into the game?

and you got in there by luck, just admit it. Auburn deserved to be in the 04' game but wasnt lucky enough

Which is downright funny when bama fans chastise Auburn for being lucky

Actually I was regurgitating your talking points in terms of bama, you obviously are too blinded to see it
