In a region devastated financially by the Civil War, a small, underfunded agricultural college started a football team in 1892. In the 123 years since that first game, Auburn football has won five national championships and evolved into an economic engine that generates millions of dollars every year for the university and merchants.

Auburn athletics is normally profitable, and Benedict expects the program will return to the black in 2015. In 2014, Auburn drew from its cash reserves to cover losses which Benedict attributed to a few unique situations.

I mean, I'd trust anything the trio of Jay Jacobs, David Benedict and Tim Jackson told me.

I wouldn't let Tim Jackson have anything to do with my kids 529 plan led alone a multi-million dollar athletic foundation.

I think you're one of the few who think AU is Bama's daddy.

This whole thread is a fine example of why we can't have nice things.

Chattabama starts it with a well done title and troll perfect for rivalry week. Most posters from both sides see the humor and jump right in, leading to rainboots, hammers, and other frivolity only to see the thing derailed because a few from both sides are too perpetually butthurt to have a little fun.

Son, just because bama cheats more and pays players more to win a few more football games does not mean they in any way shape or form measure up to AU overall.
