My prediction is 31-17,35-21 and IMO the line will be somewhere at 14.5

I'm curious where the line is. I was thinking it would be closer to 8.5.

aTm might win this one, I haven't paid any attention to them this year, but today looked up their stats and shite. I figured their shitty defense would be their downfall. I know stats only go so far, but aTm is no joke.

Their only two losses were very close, to LSU and FL.

Their defense is ranked 27, which doesn't sound that good on paper, but UGA's defense is 25 and we all know it's a pretty good defense. aTm's is only giving up a fraction more of a point per game than UGA's.

aTm has 10th best rushing in the country.

aTm is #4 in the country in overall points.

And it's not just against cupcakes... considering they are more than halfway through an SEC season, including two losses, and still have those kinds of numbers is pretty incredible.

I wouldn't put money on them beating Bama, but I don't think I'd put money on anyone in this game period.

Had aTm won just one of those close losses, they'd be the ones talking about mNC scenarios.

Basic summary, I didn't know aTm was that good because I haven't paid attention to them. I'm glad I read up before my pickum this week.

SEC's best offense vs SEC's best defense.

This is the perfect trap game scenario.

So much haterade in this thread.

Our program knows how football in the SEC--and elsewhere--is played. This argument is so damn tired. I love the SEC; but I when I read shite like this, I can understand why the rest of the nation does not.

Whether or not you agreed with MSU's ranking heading into last Saturday should've been discussed prior to the game. It's always convenient to second-guess rankings after the fact. The players have nothing to do with the polls ... they play the schedule they're dealt.

For many reasons, I'm so looking forward to this week's game. Damn ... what a difference a year makes. This time last fall I was sleep-walking through our entire snoozefest schedule. This year, every week is a total shot in the arm. Still hard to believe we're finally in the SEC.

It's real simple AM. Bammer is going to woodshed
Your *ss this weekend. Johnny might not make it until halftime. If he takes off running around this weekend he's gonna end up in a body bag.
You played LSU at home and got beat, now you're going on the road vs a better D and think you're going to put up huge numbers? That makes me laugh.

At what point do people stop bringing up the la tech game. No one else has put up points on the aggies. Our d is just fine. State just found that out as has everyone else we've played.

Maybe. Who knows? I'm not trying to convince you of anything, nor did I say we were going to put up "huge numbers. "

Moral victories are, well, moral victories. But the fact that anyone is even talking about us with any sort of interest heading into this game (and not characterizing our squad as a bloody, beaten-up disaster [don't forget, we haven't had/will not have a bye week]) doesn't suck. At least not from an A&M fan's standpoint.

If we can limit the turnovers then anything is possible. We coughed the ball up against LSU 4 times, and you can't expect to beat a good team like that when you get dominated in the turnover battle. If we limit the mistakes it could be a pretty good game.

That being said, I think Bama rolls without much problems. Something like 35-17. I've been pleasantly surprised by our team this season, but I don't think we're ready to knock off LSU or Bama just yet.

I think you guys have played above expectations this year. You have a good football team. That being said, i put your chances at winning this weekend at 10%. I think the speed and physicality at the LOS will affect your offense greatly.
I'm not sure your style of play will work vs bammer.

I think this game is going to be a learning experience for AM.
Good luck though,

aTm scored 19 points on your 10th best defense in the nation. Bama only scored 2 more.

It's not unreasonable to think aTm has a much better than 10% chance of upsetting Bama... at least not on those grounds.

Physicality? Your two NFL draft pick DEs were shut out by our NFL draft pick tackles. Yea...

Getting pretty tired of people saying we don't play physical football. We have done nothing but exceed expectations this year. We are still treated like a Big 12 team. Announcers yesterday raving about our offense, pretty much denying the fact that our defense shut MSU out. Their scores came when we were playing prevent defense.

They scored one of those TD's at the end of game. Not saying it was a garbage TD but it was against a prevent D.

This time they're on the road. I think that makes a big difference to an offense. Crowd noise affects communication. Can put you in bad down and distance situations.

I think Bama's offense will have its way with our defense and I see our offense struggling at the LOS. Speed and size were the difference in both the LSU and Florida games. I think our turnovers in the LSU game did not happen in a vacuum--their defense put a lot of pressure on our offense. Clearly Bama's defense can do the same.

That said, as young as our offense is, every game gives exponentially in terms of experience. Realistically we should get our asses beat in all phases of the game. (Anyone know of a college-aged kicker with strong grades who can kick???) But we all know that there are days where everything clicks for a weaker team while the stronger team struggles with rhythm, turnovers, etc. I think it would take one of those days for us to win, but we do have the tools for that to happen.

Conclusion: We need a miracle but you never know.

A copy/paste of my reply from this thread.

--------------------------
I think that Nick Saban is the best college coach there is and that Bama is the consensus #1 team in the nation. How can you expect to beat that? I don't. I'm not saying we have no shot. This is just not a game that I expect to win.

Our two losses came against teams who were able to keep JFF in the pocket, and collapse that pocket rushing only three, four, or five guys. We have a quality offensive line, and not many teams can do that. The grinders tried and failed. If you all out blitz against JFF, he will smoke you.

Our defense has been pretty damn good against the run this season. I knew coming into the season that we would have good linebacker play, but the D-Line has really stepped up. They've been much better than I expected. If you think you're going to run, run, run until we're worn down, I don't think you'll like the result.

Our secondary is pitiful. That's been mostly irrelevant in the SEC, but it's still the ugly truth. For all of the shite we took from the arrogant coonasses on this site after we lost to LSU, there are two facts that can't be ignored.

1. If we had held onto the ball (we were -5 in turnovers) we would have won.

2. If LSU had been able to hit the open receiver (and they missed time after time) they would have killed us.

I did not like Sumlin as our hire last fall, and my apprehension has been proven wrong by what he has done so far. I don't doubt that Saban finds a way to win. He almost always does. But I can guarantee you that Sumlin will have our guys ready to play. You won't be facing a "deer in the headlights" opponent who is in awe of everything going on around them. I promise you that.
